Can we turn Echo off please!?

I've been trying for months to get into a static and down Turn 5 Bahamut's Coil at the challenge it's presented at.

Now I am reading they are forcing Echo on 2 weeks after the patch?

CAN WE TURN IT OFF?!

I would like to fight Twintania at her full power. I don't want to be the "guy that beat her post-patch" and I have been playing this game since August just to beat her at the normal challenge. I don't want freebie buffs. I want to win the fight and have the pride of beating her as she is. It's been insanely difficult getting a static and now that I have one finally, now you're handing the victory over with ease.

Is Square Enix catering to casuals and bad players now? Whatever happened to balancing the needs of the community? Even the Extreme primals are getting Echo. What gives!? Let's just spoon feed everyone now.

Can you simply just offer to turn Echo on or off and allow those who beat these trials and dungeons at the original setting and get more bonuses and treasure from completing it? And leave the Echo stuff for those simply wanting to clear things. That is the perfect solution yet I see for something like this.

Square Enix, please tell me I can still somehow fight her as she is? I'm reconsidering my subscription now because I feel like you're catering too much to one side of the crowd of players and not the other.

Yes you can
Just right-click the Echo buff on your bar like you would any buff you want to dispel.

Pretty sure you can just click off the buff. Or at least in story mode you could.

It's been confirmed a while ago that the Echo buff will be optional. And let me address this as I have frequently in the past: one of the biggest challenges of development (especially an MMO) is finding a balance between your casual and high level experiences. If content is too easy, you'll lose high levels, especially the ones who will race to the top then become bored/disappointed. If content is too hard, you'll lose casuals that might one day immerse themselves more at high levels. Each side will get something, but they can't have everything they want.

Also, while I too would enjoy being able to say I overcame a challenge at its hardest, that desire is far from a determining factor when it comes to patches and balance changes.

I don't get it. Once 2.2 is out, Twintania is considered "old stuff", a gate that you need to pass to get to "Da Real Deal Yo". Wouldn't it be better if you can move on as quickly as possible from that.... thing... so you can get to 2nd coil?

I didn't know you could click it off... I think I need to make my buff/debuff bar bigger.

I was getting irritated at getting automatically "Echo'd" if I failed a main story fight once. I want to beat it fair and Square, not get "boosted" because I goofed up the first time.

"Post" patch.
Unless u were part of BG\\'s party when the claimed world\\'s first before the twister nerf patch i think.
I haven\\'t really attempted twin much as i know i don\\'t have time to be in a static and if it\\'s going to be easier to a point it could be handed to me on a silver platter in a few months then..... I might as well wait and just do it after patch 2.2 lol

Also ur logic is really off lol....
You can never ever beat her at her initial release un nerfed full power self anymore.
But having an echo buff on just means ur fighting as a stronger
Version of urself, which means u r still fighting twintania at "her" current version's full power.
Echo buffs effect only you... Not the boss.
That's what i read from the live letter's notes.
Ppl will be all like " gj u beat turn 5, now beat turn 9 and then come back to me" mentality.....
It's all a matter of time.
