Hello again, my favorite grammar Ahriman!

I think there might be one grammatical error in this little guys sentence. I'm no English major, but I figured I'd post it in case, I thought it sounded a bit off. Figured I'd run it by my more skilled grammatical allies on the forum.

"See there, even the Chocobos is chipper".

Shouldn't it be, "even the Chocobo is chipper". Since there's only a single Chocobo there? Or something along those lines? I've been reading several other grammar bug gremlins running around since patch, so I figured this might have been another one of them?
