I get too much into the grinding mood that I don't notice that my retainer returned especially if I was in a party. Usually if I was grinding alone I notice better, but with a party and an active/talkative one I fail to notice.

Run Brayflox HM with some friends then. Kill three birds with one stone. Darklight (any piece) vendors for almost 900 seals and the greens come in around 700 if I recall correctly. So just greed/need away and make seals, cap Myth and Soldiery while your venture slave goes out and brings you back "awesome" goodies.

Each piece of Darklight is almost 5 venture tokens. You can purchase 5 of them from the Grand Company quartermaster for 1000 seals.

My retainer found a white raven armor fragment. Which I sold for 2 million.

Don't worry, this is Leviathan we're talking about. The next will sell for 500k, the one after that for 20k, and the next one for less than it vendors for.

Got Broombush Seeds today, which there were none for sale on Moogle. I noticed the huge EXP (more than 40k) and got 100k Gil within a few minutes, so I guess I was selling too low.

Probably could have gotten well over a mil for them. Oops!

My level 10 retainer armed with only lvl 1 btn axe brought me a broombush.. At least on moogle market board has 0 of those for sale and no where can i find online how to get them so I figure it must be rare.
Now only if I could find someone capable of 3-star crafting, glazenut and ancient lumber i could get my Magic Broom minion =P

So my retainer brought back and Explorer's Ring. I've seen others bring back stuff like Explorer's Tabard and Stonewall Choker. Now these were old 1.0 items that are no longer obtainable in ARR, right? Same for random seasonal things like the confetti. I also recently got a Magicked Prism (Indigo Star) which is from some Hyrstmill event from 1.0 that may or may not ever happen again. So am I correct in assuming that, while the patch notes said there were no items unique to Quick Exploration, the fact that these are obsolete 1.0 items effectively means Quick Exploration IS the only way to get them now? And what other 1.0 things might they bring back? The Darkligh Raider gear like Thormoen's Subligar? Dalamud Horns? Odd bits and bobs of obsolete crafting mats?
