Glamour - What am I doing wrong?

I seem to be unable to glamour Mogwand onto Thyrus.

    - Glamour Conditions
Glamours may be cast with any items that meet the following conditions:

The base and projected items are of the same type (hands, feet, etc.).
    Both are weapons, check.

The equipment level of the projected item is equal to or lower than the base item.
Thyrus Zenith is i90, Mogwand is i75, check.

The base item and projected item are equippable by the same class or job.
    Both WHM, check.

The base item and projected item are equippable by the same gender or race.
    Not applicable but check anyways.

For gear occupying more than one gear slot, one the following conditions must be met in addition to the above:

The base item and projected item occupy the same number of gear slots.
All of the projected item's gear slots fall within the base item's gear slots.

    Example:
    Able to cast glamours
Casting the glamour of a robe on a hooded cowl, as the body and head slot of the hooded cowl include the body slot of the robe.
Mogwand occupies main hand slot, same as Thyrus, only difference being that I won't be able to equip a shield. Check.

Thyrus is repaired by GSM, so I made a level 4 GSM prism (i61~i80) and level 5 GSM prism (i80+) just in case, and Mogwand is repaired by ALC so I made a level 4 ALC prism and level 5 ALC prism. That's every possible combination, yet when I try to glamour, Alkalurops is the only thing that shows up as a valid option.

It shouldn't matter according to the example they gave. Robe is body, cowl is body+head, but robe can be cast onto cowl because they occupy same slot, so it looks like it's ok as long as projected slots <= base slots.

Mogwand is MH, Thyrus is MH+OH, so the inequality checks out.

It's true that it shouldn't matter.

Same as the hooded robe to body-only... Thyrus to Mogwand should just disable the option of showing an off-hand shield.

As backwards as it is, it is the same concept. because it is a two handed weapon, it has to pair with another two handed weapon.

If the original weapon is 2 handed only 2 handed weapons will work, other weapon names will be grayed out if they r a higher ilvl, different class weapon, two handed or 1 handed.
It'd be weird to have a thyrus with a garuda's whm wep as a glamour...cuz the shield would be invisible/ non existent? Lol
Probably would be too much programming or something i assume.

Except it's NOT the same concept. If it were the same concept as is used with hooded cowls, then a one handed weapon could only be made to look like another one handed weapon, but a two handed weapon could be made to look like either a one or two handed weapon.

What Lyrinn wants to do fits the gear slots rule just fine. The one it seems to be failing with is:
"The base and projected items are of the same type (hands, feet, etc.)."
A "One-handed Conjurer's Arm" is being treated as a different type of item than a "2H Conjurer's Arm".
If you look at the Item Type line on the tooltip of either a hooded cowl or a shirt, they both list the type simply as "Body" even though the cowl also takes the head slot. If you look at THM or CNJ weapons, on the other hand, they differentiate two different item types according to whether they're one handed or two.

It makes no logical sense why those cases should be different. Hopefully SE will decide it's a bug and that their system should regard 2H weapons as the same type as 1H weapons but simply ones that take up an extra (off-hand) gear slot in much the way cowls take up the extra (head) gear slot.

Oh, I see, thank you for the clarification. That's really disappointing and I hope they change it in the near future.

Yet more infuriating limitations to the glamour system caused by item slot overlap.

    Thanks SEbama.

Did you report this as a bug? By the example given it should work, but that's SE for you...
