I found your post to be pretty insulting ... if SE wanted us to "get over it" they wouldn't have made the races almost identical... If FFXIV is nothing like FFXI... I won't be playing it nor will any of my friends. Seeing as it got many of it's players because they played FFXI I agree with Jennestia. If you want this game to succeed don't start telling it's players to go elsewhere.

One reason it's being compared is that a lot of FFXI players that know how good FFXI is wonder how SE could have made such monumental errors because of their experience with FFXI and the fact that SE didn't even take from FFXI what actually worked and instead tried to do a reinvention of the wheel. If you don't like that FFXI was better, and that this team should be USING their own experience with a great mmo for this game.... then I believe you are just looking for someone to be mean to... let the FFXI players make their comments, they aren't going to get over it.... so get over that.
You are entitled to your opinion and I won't bother asking you to change it.... but your statement to get over it or go back is pretty negative ... and no I am not going anywhere just because I like FFXI better.
I welcome all new changes SE might have for this game.... but they need to get with it and just use what works while adding their new features.
I have been watching the game since release, and plan to continue doing so... why? Because I loved FFXI. That game shows me how much potential this one could have. FFXI is the only game to ever hold my interest every day for 8 years. I am pretty sure they were doing something right.

I apologize for sounding angry and I don't post often... but you made a pretty bad impression on me. Sorry if I misjudged your character or your meaning... but we are miserable enough without people telling us to go away because we miss good things about FFXI that would make XIV so much better.... we want to help as much as you do to improve the game and we wouldn't comment, be here, or care if we didn't.
