    Optimal progression path in 2.2

As someone who got his first shiney new 50 right before the patch hit, it's difficult to confidently sort through all the past and current information.

With the new patch is the path basically the same as wow? Spam dungeons for currency until you're geared enough for people to not laugh you out of starting raid progression while following the relic quest?

Are there any side steps I should make sure to take?

Yeah, a really important one. Find a hobby to take up while waiting for DF to queue you in.

This is what I would do if I were in your shoes,

    Grab an ifrit weapon 1st!

Unlock CT ASAP and spam that dungeon. There is no weekly gear lockout on CT anymore. So, Get as much gear as you possibly can and when you accumulate enough myth tomes, buy a piece of ilvl 90 gear. I would go with myth accessories from the myth vendor since they are cheap, CT does not drop accessories, and a lot of them are BiS for the blm crit bild.

Do the second step until you feel you have enough power to do titan HM. Once you reach this point, do your relic quest.

By the time you do your relic quest, you should be able +1 your relic via the thavarian mist from the myth vendor.

Just keep doing CT and myth tome gear til you feel comfortable stepping into coil and extreme primals.

I did get impatient when I hit 50 and spent part of my rewards savings on HQ Astrolabe(sp?) hoping that would take the kick me sign off when I started progression.

    Much appreciated. Ty both ^_^

CT is definitely an option. You aren't guaranteed to get any drops, but on the other hand, you can also get ALL of the drops. You also gain Myth (and Soldiery?) by doing it, so it is a win-win.

Also, if you're not afking or playing like a huge douche noone will label you undergeared in CT or anything of the like. And yes, CT currently awards 100 Myth / 10 Soldiery.
For a change of pace you could also go Wanderer's Palace / AK etc. which isn't bad for tomes either, the loot is a lot worse though

It's actually fairly similar to WoW BC: Karazhan, just you get to go into CT as often as you want.
