The players are already running away from the ps3 version becouse of the bad graphics and slow old hardware. And also they have to limit the pc version so pc and ps4 players cant enjoy full graphic potentional of the game. You see it so clearly when you try zoom into gear and weapons. Very pixelated.

Stell, the game would lose about half of the playerbase.

Also, it would create a great precedent "Buy FFXIV for your PS3 and enjoy it for 6 months! Then you can throw your game out the window!"
