Game Moderators Too Strict/Unfair Penalties, Suggestion to Maintain Balance

Hi, it's my first post here and I really hate to be "That Guy" and come off as a nit-picker. However it has come to my attention that many players are being punished for foul language when in this time and age it has become so common online even by the 13 year old minimum demographic.

I would like to petition an automated chatbot that, much like the censor filters, will track prohibited curses used in succession and when hit a specifically set amount of vulgar language; will state a warning to cease the cussing at once before GM action will be taken, allowing the player to notice their mistake and avoid undeserved punishment.

The point of the matter is I do not want more players to be banned or suspended from the service for common MMORPG shenanigans that any other service with the same intended demographic would otherwise ignore.

I keep cursing to my FC chat since everyone in there is 20+. There's plenty of other words you can substitute for "bad" words anyways... This is the first time I have heard of this issue.

Did you violate terms? Did someone report you for it? Then you got hit like you should. I've not heard of anyone else getting hit for swearing (even in /shout). Action only seems to be taken in extreme cases which usually combines trashy talk, racism, and other nasty things.

I actually like the warning system, it gives people time, plus there is always that one time, someone has a younger sibling or a pain in the ass friend who thinks it'll be funny shouting vulgarity all over. I've had it happen with a friend where her younger sister pulled that.

Took my friend and I awhile to inform the GM's that it wasn't her, but her sister's fault. And while she shouldn't have left it on, at the same time, how can you be with it nonstop? There are times you get hungry, need a bathroom, or simply stretch your legs. Heck, you could get called suddenly if you're living with someone to help them.


But maybe to make more sense, have it where it only does that filter only through say and shouts. As others stated, there are FCs who don't care if they cuss. It should only be monitored mainly through the chats everyone can see not party of a party/Free Company.
