My personal anecdote: went into Garuda EX and got a main tank that had apparently gone on hiatus until 2.2 launched. Somehow he decided Garuda EX was a great way to warm back up to the game. So he tanked Garuda too close to the center and all the pillars died- Mistral wipe. Says he's good now and we try again; loses hate on his sister (thought flash X2 would take care of it) we wipe. Doesn't provoke the spiney plume and we all get blasted and quickly wipe. Totes got it now. Runs through three windburns right after that phase and quickly goes down.

"No I got it now. Just forgot some things."

Forgets the second spiney plume and we wipe. So much echo we have the spiney plume detonate again, but we live through it. One sister doesn't go down and just barely scrape through the hit- Garuda comes to wipe us up.


While the echo is nice and does give you more leniency... that one bad egg that just doesn't get it will still kill the whole party. Its really just a matter of making up for someone dying during a DPS phase or saving a healer from having to cast a raise someone that would have died.
