It is a well intentioned nerf and maybe it will succeed in some servers.... But I live in the west, and I think here people are just going to be lazy. If there is a way to do something with less effort, people are going to do it. If it makes it take longer and be more inconvenient, it's not a big deal to most. All they care about is they don't have to try as hard. Which means they can sit there while eating their lunch and watching tv at the same time as wiping your Titans... :P

There is new content for people who can't dodge. People who can't manage difficult content should just stick to the other content or find other ways to improve their performance (ping zapper, practice, research etc etc etc) so they can down the harder content.

Even in wow, raids were never nerfed to the point where people could roll their face across their key boards and win. The echo buff allows people who were on the cusp of being able to win before succeed now. I am glad there are mechanics that no amount of echo buff will help. At some point, people should have to earn loot, even if the fight was made easier via a group buff.

So I tried Titan HM today for my relic. It just wasn't going to happen. We failed so many times I lost count ( several different parties).

I understand it is "end game" content, but for many people it is just too hard. Combined with lag, it is impossible. This is the content that makes you loose players, and money.

Sure, some people can do it, but you will loose friends because of it. They will just stop playing. I already see the beginnings of our group breaking up because of content like this.

They just want to have fun, and Titan HM isn't.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend - but having done titan hm for a month before I finally beat it, your statement kind of annoys me. It's not supposed to be doable in one day, it wouldn't be endgame otherwise.

Also, titan is mainly about memorising his rotation and using your knowledge of what comes next to dodge accordingly. It took me less than a week after I looked up a visual guide for his rotation to beat him, and I'm not that skilled of a player :P

After you've got the rotation down he becomes relatively easy to beat. It just needs to click and you'll rarely struggle with him. (Though you still need a decent group).

This is the real difficulty with Titan EX. 1 people out before heart phase (especially a DPS) and you might as well jump.
That and the latency, of course. Yesterday was as bad as the Mondays regarding latency and 90Ks

I did titan HM yesterday with 20% echo, i think now 4 players knowing the fight is enough to pass (much much easier than before). The way i passed is:
- always dodge landslide;
- don't stand in more than 1 bomb, but don't try to dodge them all;
- don't move from less than 2 Weights unless you are a smn/brd who can dps while running.
I think hard content should stay outside of main story, but it's SE decision, not mine.

Regarding the topic, it's weird to see people complaining about lack of skill and learning in the casual-oriented mmo (i remember seeing somewhere producer saying he does not want the game to be grind and smart based). In some other mmos there are walls that need 3 months, 6 months, year to pass, but ffxiv instead makes older content easier so everyone can pass it - that's the direction of the game and expecting everyone to improve is pointless. Also there is no reward for improving and no penalty for not doing so, you cannot blame people for not doing something that is pointless.

this is the worst advice ive ever seen for titan hardmode aside from the not getting hit by landslides part pretty much every bit of it is wrong.

- never get hit by bombs, not even 1, the phases that come after bombs will kill you if you arent at full or near full hp, so getting hit by even one bomb puts unnecessary strain on your healers, one bomb can very easily kill an undergeared or low hp person

- always dodge plumes, even one. again for the reason listed above, taking avoidable damage will get you killed by unavoidable damage. i dont care who you are, healer blm smn or brd, get your ass out of the plume the second it appears. DO NOT FINISH CASTING, surviving is more important than your dps

If you try to understand what i wrote in my post you would notice i passed titan this way.
My advice is for laggers, you obviously are not one, why did you bother posting? You don't even understand the reason behind intentionally getting hit by one bomb/plume because you never lagged there.
Also you obviously haven't done titan in 2.2, again why did you post this? There are no longer phyl tomes, no more limit on myth and they are easy to farm through expert roulette, add there +50% hp/damage/healing buff from echo. If you no longer play the game at least don't teach people the old stuff.

I pugged Titan HM earlier and got to max echo buff (50%) with two separate groups...still no win. Echo is no replacement for knowing the fights. I think the Echo's true purpose is to give incentive to stick around.
