No, it's practically the same thing. Your problem isn't with people looking at your gear. Your problem is with people judging you on it, which they will do ANYWAYS. Even with Vanity.No. I just don't want people to judge how good I actually am at playing based on a few lower level pieces of gear that i haven't gotten the opportunity to change because people don't give me the opportunity to get better gear. Letting people view your gear just gives them the chance to moan and kick you for nothing. Glamor + getting a prompt allow/don't allow would help a lot.

The World of Warcraft community became very toxic and judgmental over item levels after the Gearscore addon was released. I am hoping that average item levels not only remain hidden, but that when addons are supported there will not be anything allowed that automatically calculates and displays other players' item levels, either. If you really want to know what your party members are wearing, feel free to examine them. But elitism should not be easily encouraged.
