Do they honestly think this is preventing people from doing that anyway? There are both good and bad reasons to have this ability. The problem is the bad reasons can be done with or without this pasted on the screen. A cursory glance at a characters screen can already let you know how poor or good their gear is and if I really want to dig down it isn't hard to add a few numbers and divide by the number of slots. It's not unreasonable for us to want to be able to get someones iLv at a glance with the glamour system in place.
