Why? You already get more information then ilvl by doing an examine. Just like someone with i90 on the left side and i70 on the right is not the same as someone with all i90 accesories/i70 primary equipment. Next up let's just put everyones ilvl on the party list right next to their HP so I can kick whoever is the lowest.

This is so true! In his example both players would have the same ilvl but one would pump out way more DPS than the other making ilvl nothing but a number.

Maybe we can have a setting:
    (x) Display my iLevel (DPS/HPS)

And then we can filter to only allow people who display their ilevel to join the party? Provided their iLevel is of the right level of course.

This way party leaders can create parties where only those who display and are of suitable iLevel join.
And people who are not interested in iLevel can easily avoid those parties.

This of course has the nice side-effect that it makes it an easy way for people to choose what kind of people they want to party with (those who care about numbers and those who do not).

I have had a few times when I would've liked to see the iL during examine as a quick reference to aide in recommending a particular method for certain fights (for some bosses the dance moves change based off of how much damage they're taking.)
It can also help in recommending who would be the preference to use limit break.
It can also be helpful as a benchmark for figuring out at which point does content goes from having some challenge to bring so easy that people can be carried.

Is any of that game breaking? No
Does any of that involve bullying? It shouldn't, but never underestimate psychopaths, sociopaths and trolls.

Or, you know, you could set some ridiculous iLvl requirement in party finder. Thinking i85 would be a good starting point for T1.

It's PURELY to see if someone is "suitable" as stated - I can join on my i90 SCH and switch to my i72 DRG if I so chose to, for example. Ivl in PF only blocks you from joining directly as less than, but you're more than capable of switching.

Not hard, there is this amazing thing in game called a chat feature, learn to talk to people, it's a MMO!

I like how you guys are putting words into my mouth. Not everyone in this community is a dick. When I say 'recommend he advance it' I MEAN JUST THAT.

If I'm in a dungeon and a player is doing poorly due to his gear, I will tell him that exact thing. Everything you're doing is fine, your gear just isn't up to par but we'll get through the dungeon. I have yet to ever rage quit a dungeon, EVER. Sure sometimes I get mad when people aren't doing things properly, but I rage only inside and I tell them calmly how to do it right. Not once in any of my posts did I say I rage quit or get mad when people have low ilvls, you are all telling me that's what I say. When you've never actually encountered me in a dungeon.

I can tell you that I am probably the least toxic player in this thread.

You could always just put this down under your notes info.

These forums are experts in the art of strawman.
