Not to argue your point (which may be relevant I don't travel through gridania much), but can't you just outrun the aggro mobs? I do it all the time in Thanalan, it's not an ideal solution (take note SE: Sneak & Invisible please) but it works......

Gridania and Ul'dah both have varied areas but the zones have too much filler in them. If most of the pathways were removed from The Black Shroud and the open areas in Thanalan made more compact, they would look completely different. Especially when new regions are released and players can level in more places, there is even less of a reason to keep the regions as-is. However, even a 'simple' task like this needs a huge amount of work and it would not be surprising if SE didn't put resources to it. I can see them making it so we'll move from one area to another much faster instead. For example you would stay in Thanalan for 15 ranks, then move on to Coerthas until rank 25, then to Mor Dhona until you hit 30. New regions (or dungeons in the starter regions) would take you to 50.
I don't see it sorry guys. I think you guys read too much into what a troll said about this game and are looking for it. I've seen tons of youtube vids about ffxiv and I just don't see it. It looks like ffxi with better graphiocs to me.
If ffxiv is copy and pasted then ffxi was also. I been following this game for a while and the copy and paste thing for me came up AFTER launch. You think it woulda been around since the nda lift.
Also there are already topics on this on the front page. Post this in one of them instead. Its hard to keep up if everyone is posting the same thing 20 times. Stop copy amd pasting your complaints please .
I guess no one here ever been to kazam in ffxi. Or yuhtanga and yhoator jungles. >.> if you did you wouldn't complain. And that was for a long time a lvling zone. And no one in game complained how copy andpasted those zones where. Just how bad the map was. Or King Rapperres (sp) towb in east ron. That was prettty copy and p[asted too yet no one complained.
My question is are they really that copy and pasted? Or are ppl just looking for a reason to complain?
DCUO has much worst copy and pasting even I notice it. Yet when I brought it up no one agreewed with me.
Kinda see where I'm going with this?
simply put, its annoying because you are looking for it. Just stop trying to look for it and enjoy the game. If it really needs to be fixed ffxiv can release a "cata" expack and change the zones like WoW did.

The copy paste is honestly alot more noticeable than almost any other mmorpg I have played, and I like to try new/old F2P and P2P just for the enjoyment of trying something new quite frequently..
doesnt really work when you get 1 shotted by a diremite or hog in your wayNot to argue your point (which may be relevant I don't travel through gridania much), but can't you just outrun the aggro mobs? You guys got any suggestion other then a rant post? like your ideas to fix the "copy and pasted" enviroment?
Or how about someone make a youtube movie post it to point out these copy and pasted stuff. Along with suggestion for less "copy and pasted" look.
If you think this is a troll thread then you need to toughten up. Seriously. For the sake of your own health I'd recommend avoiding ZAM and Blue Gartr may just make your head explode.
In other words, lighten up. The OP made a post on why he didn't like The Shroud, that's his opinion and his right. While it may not have been the most diplomatic post it was in no way really imflammitory either. A few people have agreed with him, again, well within their rights and now you have chipped in with a stop trolling the forums decree.
I ask you, who is the troll in this thread?
Abyss: Welcome to a Higher Quality of Nerding™
The truth is people played all through the alpha/beta and not once on the beta forums (The most troll infested place on earth) was copy paste mentioned and none of the terrains changed since then. Then Mike B from Zam made that Copy/pasta video and instantly it became game breaking for the majority.
It is no where as bad as ppl make it seems. Now if you focus on it and look for it yea it can piss you off, which I think is what everyone is experiencing right now.
The copy paste is noticeable because there is not enough landmarks and points of interest and the fact the game is not finished makes everything wrong 10xs worse for some reason.
