Gridania Copy and Paste--Uldah Copy and Paste

Since were trying to get SE's attention on what this game needs fixin I figure I would put out there one of the most annoying aspects that I have of the world of FF14 and that is the boring bland copy and paste aspect of Gridania and other continents. It's gotten so bad at Gridania that on Gysahl server Gridania is pretty much uninhabited by it's citizens.
I tried to join 3 behests the other day only to be the the only member present at all 3 of them......Let me tell you why Square Enix

    1. No fast travel to Gridania...WE NEED airships there and back.

    2. Boring bland world full of twists and turns that mirror each other exactly. Other MMO's that have
forests don't have these many obstacles...it makes this area boring, uninteresting, and predictable. We need vast open forest areas where we can come into large openings then creep in between trees when we have too...use the terrain to our advantage instead we have REd dots one shotting us from around corners.

(Don't get me started on Uldah it's the same way)

Unless you want Uldah to be the only inhabited area by it's citizens/players SE you seriously need to give more players incentives to go to Gridania, literally it's a ghost town overthere.

    3. The main city is too spread out....you literally have to go too far to get from point A to point B anywhere in Gridania, it's a pain.

I put this same thread on another forum on the internet and many people said it was just too dam boring copy and pastey...

I like Gridania....as an Archer I would think it would be my perfect hunting ground to kill stuff and scavenge good materials...wrong.....I can't go where I want because of all the barriers, hell I can't even run over a root without hitting an invisible wall....

It's a shame really such a nice area hampered by development.

I think the spread-out nature of Gridania (the city) is a characteristic of that city and shouldn't be changed. The surrounding area (the black shroud) has so many interesting areas, but they are arranged in such an unflattering/repeating way that the zone becomes so repulsive to run through more than once.

Recycling of assets is a common characteristic of every single videogame, even more MMOs.

I just did my first run through the Black Shroud, and while the atmosphere is excellent to a point, it got really tiresome to see the same waterfall, the same cave, and the same barely open copse of tiny trees with marmots in it. I am really getting tired of marmots!

Um are you all aware that arguing about this after the game has been released is a moot point? Right? Changing maps and altering areas in the way that you guys are hinting isn't a patch thats a ticket right back to the pre-release development phase.

All you guys can do now is hope that any new areas are inspired by a little more than CTRL+V.

Let's focus on things that they can fix instead of cluttering the forums with stupidity.

    Need MOAR NANNYGOATS!!!

But on topic Gridania has a lot of extremely good looking areas in it: the large waterfall areas, the tree that looks like the one in boyodha, and the large lakes just look awesome, strange stone formations, large glowing trees. But sorta is negated by the horrible copy paste of zone.

Grid is kinda a let down. Ronfuare was more interesting.

The overall design of the Black Shroud makes it impossible to navigate when in areas with aggressive monsters. There's simply no way around them because of the small "hallways" that make up the area. Unfortunately I don't see them going back and re-designing any areas anytime soon.

Not to argue your point (which may be relevant I don't travel through gridania much), but can't you just outrun the aggro mobs? I do it all the time in Thanalan, it's not an ideal solution (take note SE: Sneak & Invisible please) but it works......
