I know where you are coming from, Dimitrias. Some times I feel like you do. I'm no where near where you are (I'm at the equivalent of 2.0). But then I think to myself "I'm just going to have fun, play my way." But the gap isn't as massive as it may seem.

I'm even farther behind than you and not really worried. I've done none of the 2.1 or 2.2 stuff at all.

It was more of a problem in FFXI honestly, because there was no duty finder,
Yet having the duty finder means that while you'll never be unable to do the content, you won't as well be able to do it on your server.

    It's a double edged sword.
Still, i'm glad to have it.

    Just enjoy the adventure.

Well after experiencing echo buff 1st hand i have to say it'll be pretty easy for the trials the allow it now.
My hp from 5174 as a whm soared to 7k+ at 25% buff so....
The tanks got 10k+ and everyone else were at 5kish.
The dps was so strong it was ridiculous and the healing power was like as if i had divine seal on 24/7!!
The only thing the echo buff won't buff is ur knowledge and latency for the fight.
But still, if u use echo you'll be able to catch up fairly quick!

First, thank you for posting. The forums are full of threads about people wanting more content because they have rushed through the current content, so it is nice to hear from the other side.

Second, as has been have said, don't worry about what others are doing. Being "left behind" implies that you have the same goal. For some people their goal is getting through all of the content as quickly as possible. It sounds like your goal is taking your time and enjoying it. SE makes existing content easier when new content is released, so it is always possible to "catch up" to new content if that is your goal. Otherwise just keep doing things at your own pace.

I understand the feeling of looking at the continual new content and thinking "I'm never going to finish all of that!" which, you know, I think is kind of the point for a subscription game. So just keep looking forward to the rest of the journey you have.

Don't worry! I still haven't conquered the extremes .. Except Garuda.

As others have said, SE is making more powerful equipment easier to obtain, at i71 you have access to a lot of things in the game - myth and i70 gear is easier than ever to get, and the echo buffs will help you blaze through the content that others aren't really interested in anymore.

I dont understand how you think you can willingly NOT progress in the game and then complain that you are being left behind? No one said you had to cap out all jobs.....

There will always be both people ahead of you and people behind you. Don't worry about that. It's normal and expected. You aren't "behind" just because you aren't one of the first players to reach something. In fact, you should never want to be among the first to reach content, because those are the players who get stuck there bored with nothing else to do. It's far better to be back far enough that you always have most of the game ahead of you and tons of stuff you can be doing.

it's easy to catch up, pick one job, find the most efficient way for you to grind Myth tomes and spend it all on that job until you have enough iLv to do the Expert Roulette.

after that grind out Soldiery and spend all of that on the same job that you put all your myths into. you'll be right up there by the next patch.

"jack of all trades master of none"

Pretty much this. You can either be okay at everything or excellent at specific job.

I started late just got my 3 months vet reward and already got all my roulettes unlocked, most of my i90 gear (missing accessories) and capped 450 soldiery tomes for the week.
