I feel like i'm getting left behind...

So I've been playing since beta phase 3, and pretty much stayed away from end game until now. I've been to buzy leveling all 8 classes in the game. Been doing it the slow way. Have literally never farmed fates, and just did dungeon grinding before the triple xp boost.

Overall it took me 7 months to cap all 8 classes, but now I feel like I've gotten really behind on end-game.

I have been focusing on blm lately and got it to ilvl 71. I've just recently farmed ifrit hm and guruda hm and got there weapons. I'm currently on titan hm and just unlocked the moogle fight from the main storyline.

The problem is, I've just started 2.1 stuff, but at the same time 2.2 has come out and 90% of the stuff I hear about people doing is all the new stuff from 2.2. I feel like I've gotten behind most of the community and its gona suck trying to catch up to all these players at this pace.

What if I take like a long break in the future and come back at like 2.4. Imagine how behind I'm gona be at that point. Its also gona suck for people who just begin the game with the ps4, or this summer or later.

With how fast the progression is in this game, it really isn't hard to get behind if you don't keep up. It kinda makes me not wanna play as much, since all anyone wants to do is the new content.

Would be nice to find a FC that is just now progressing through 2.1 stuff like me, but that would probly be to hard to find...

Coil is accessible at ilvl71 so I would start working on that. the gear upgrades will be good and get you caught up failry fast

No it won't. SE will just nerf more stuff way too soon before it needs to be, just so new players can bypass all the content we have now and instantly be up with longtime players. (And then get quickly bored because they were able to jump to the 1st-3rd highest ilvl of the time :/)

Don't compare yourself to others. Just make sure whatever you're doing is fun for you.

Personally I leveled only 1 class to involve myself in endgame. I just started a second. There will still be plenty of people looking to do 2.1 content.

There's no right or wrong way to play. If you want to be high level progression stick to one class and specialize, otherwise enjoy yourself.

This would probably serve you better posted under the Leviathan server in the worlds section of the forums. That's the place to find FCs looking for people to join up. You might find some FCs that are in the same boat as you and need people to complete these. Good luck!

Don't rush to endgame. Enjoy each and every dungeon.

I would recommend just getting a Free Company that's active, and friendly. Even if you fall behind, if the FC is active and friendly they'll help you out when the time comes for you to do your stuff.

Honestly I don't know why everyone keeps racing to get things done in 3 days and then &!+C#es for the next 3-5 months about "not having anything to do." BUT hey, each to their own I guess.

The key is to not think about it as what are you missing? everyone plays at there own speed there is nothing making you rush right? you are were you are and if your happy who cares but if you think you need to rush just to stay with everyone then as you have all ready pointed out you end up not wanting to play so. Stop thinking about it the quest are not going anywere so do them when you want

You're never that far behind in this game. If you run a few dungeons this weekend like lost city of ampador ( really fun and not that hard), then just one or two more next week and you can buy your first ilvl 100 piece. You can be going for the same ilvl gear that the vast majority of the player base is going for.

This is true, if you quit the game and came back it is actually one of the easiest game I know to get back up to date with the end-game.
Farming tombes will be slower than the 'hardcore-endgame' players but before next patch you will be able to get the same gear as a player who did coil 2 since 2.2.
