I need 370 gathering to mine umbral rock to get new mining tool. Gathering material has become so expensive now I just melded some gatherers guerdon 1to my hq miner's shirt. It was an overmeld but the meld dialogue showed that it would meld +3 gathering. And it did.

But my gathering was 349 before the meld and did not go up to 352 after. It remains at 349. I was hoping to get it high enough that food could make up for the rest. I don't know why it's not working. I triple verified the meld.

Square just tells me to ask other players or check the forums. No one else seems to have this problem! I've done plenty of melds and never had a problem like this.
