Open world requests being censored?

Good afternoon community!

Many of you may recall my thread on open world content, it was going well with well over 130 likes and some great discussion on the subject of open world content.

Sadly...the thread was deleted by a moderator for.

"Posting aimed to create a negative impact on the community or it's members"

Now unless I'm mistaken usually threads that get out of control with flames (usually pretty evident) get locked. I haven't been searching around but have other open world thread been getting removed from the forums for some reason or another or did I miss some massive violation when I wasn't watching the thread?

These are the FFXIV forums, it's almost guaranteed that the last few pages of that thread turned into a cesspool of insults, elitism, white-knighting, flames, trolling, and other internet-related filth.

Honestly it was probably people (haters) reporting the thread. Tends to happen a lot around here. :/
Sorry it got deleted, I actually enjoyed that thread.

I just found it rather odd to have it deleted outright. I'll consider remaking it with some better formating in the future less opinion more compendium perhaps.

Just sucks all the other unique ideas in the thread are now lost.

I also made a thread with open world contents in mind, with the idea of having actual discussion and ideas of what we could do to bring more to the current "waiting for DF queue to pop land" that is open world. Sadly however I saw the direction that the thread was going and decided to abandon it, as apparently everyone thought it was about nothing more than trying to get NMs back into the game, even though there were about 5 or 6 other ideas besides NMs that were in the thread. While my thread wasn't deleted, ultimately, it just seems people want this games overworld to be nothing more than a lobby. T_T

Edit: I guess let me know if you want the link, and we could see about reviving it, but who knows what would come of it. If I had to guess with how the forums seem to go around here, it would just be more of the same insults / flaming that happens everywhere else that more than one opinion can form.

Maybe they just want people thinking about such things because the planning all the way to expansion is already done. If their plan is nothing but instances then this might be their way of pre-emptively controlling the discussions from going down that path.

As far as the thread being gone, don't worry, the devs DO archive ever thread they don't downright annihilate them. It's still somewhere, unreachable to us, but the devs can see. Or at least according to an older dev post.

I agree, it was most likely delete due to flame war rather than the actual context of the original post.
