Settings import PS3 -> PS4 supported? Or do we have to redo everything?

So what will happen this Friday when PS3 Players make the switch to the PS4 version of the Game? I heard they think about an option to store the character data (macros, skillsets, item sets, UI settins) on their servers but can't remember any official confirmation.

Can I (and I am sure other PS3 Players are interested as well) please have some information whether my first day playing the PS4 version will be 2 hours setting everything up from scratch or can I directly enjoy the Game? Thanks in advance.

Yea good point since if were unable to server side save all the congifs, gear sets and stuff and macros are going to suck. It could take a hr's or more for most ps3 people to get it back to there ps3 liken.

LETS PRAY TO KING MOOGLE , and will be like the FF11 and there will be a option for us like when ps2 and cpu and stuff switch to the xbox 360 version and they had a server side save for all that stuff , that you manual had to use in the destruction of the old days. Even if got to to do the hold rb, ninja down and start to get to the option on the players select screen to get the save from the server.

I believe SE were looking into having a server on PSN to upload your save data to, which could then be downloaded to the launcher on the PS4 version. I'm not sure if this is still the case though. Quote from Polygon interview:

"We are working with Sony to create a flow for users to utilize the PSN servers to save their data and then import it on the PS4 Final Fantasy 14 launcher menu," the representative said.

I doesnt't matter if it is an import option or if character settings are automatically stored on their servers. Any way would do it. Normally I am not begging for an "official answer" but this time I would really like to know if I have to take a plethora of screensots in advance to make it a tad better or not. I would even wait if I knew they will do something but not before next week or something like that. So if any SE representative could give us an update about what's planned for this Friday, I'd really appreciate it.

The PSN saves your Character Data if you are a Plus member. So when it pops on the PS4 all that saved data should transfer over. Though its not going to kill me if I have to reset a few things. I've been needing to redo my hot bars for a while now.

Not really helpfull here as of course PS3 game saves are not compatible with PS4 ones.

However (can't find it right now but will try to look it up) it was officially confirmed here in forums or at Lodestone that it will be possible to copy over the local settings / saves from PS3 to PS4 during the upgrade for this particular game (using the PSN game save facility - so you'd need to have PSN+ indeed unless they'll somehow expand it to USB transfer of the saves as well which I doubt though due to the differences between the game save files) - 8 characters at a time maximum. So I'll do my 8 "mains" on my home server, I'm not really bothered much about other 8 scattered accross mutliply other servers so it will suit me just fine however if the procedure is simple enough I can do those as well as I have quite a lot HUD customizations on all charactes. But as once you upgrade to PS4 version your PS3 will become inactive I'd stil las a precaution make some screenshots or notes of the most importatnt settings and hot bars just in case soemthing went wrong. Not a problem for me thoug as I have another PS3 copy of the game ready to activate once the PS4 upgrade completes so worst case scenario I'll need to log back into PS3 version to grab what's missing. This will also give the the final nudge to re-do all my crafting macros to use the new wait command syntax - was putting this off until PS4 release.

mmm this question was asked more than one time and yet no answer or information. Normally when companies switch to Silence mode it means they don't have a solution at all. Hopes are low that we get any import otion. Time for some screenshots it seems. :-(

Can you guide me to said posting? Dunno if you talk about planned or "will do for sure". The PS4 transfer information Website doesn't contain this option. If it would be a given, they would post it there, wouldn't they?

Well I hope they do inform us if that is really the case to be able to tranfers UI, macros etc PS3 to PS4.
But would be great that it s available for the beta phase 2, 4th-7th april , because If I play on PS4 I will be configuring already not waiting for the early access on the 11th april.
