Unable to download patch files

I'm sure this is a error that has been plaguing alot of us today. My laptop was able to download the update just fine, but when i go to update my wife's laptop, we get the error. I've tried the fixes that have been presented, even uninstalling and re-installing, changing the boot file, and putting the files from the good laptop to the other, but still no result. Does anyone have any fixes for this constant error?

I just copied the entire suareenix directory from one to the other and it worked, else i have no ideas, sorry

I just dealt with this issue myself. I was able to finally download the patch by using VPN Cyberghost. I used the free LA server and it worked. I assume packets are being lost the same way some people do during the game (I myself do not have this issue while playing). It was a last ditch effort being I attempted a reinstall, and it worked.

I used a VPN I downloaded, the same thing a lot of people use to fix a packet loss issue when their ISP routes to the server with a particular path. It essentially changes the route your download comes from. You just download it, and let it select an alternate IP for you to use in a different region or country. I am in Canada, and used their location in LA to allow me to download. Just do a search for CyberGhost and you will find it, it is free to download and you can uninstall it once your update is complete.
