THIEF AND/OR NINJA hinted at in 2.2 story for 2.3? (very minor spoilers)

after you beat leviathan Yugiri say she will give info about her fighting style. and at the same time we learn that Thancred was a thief, before louisoix did make him stop, he did learn the art of the gladiator, but he is a thief.

anyway, i'm not sure that we will wait for long for see new class.
Dancer was hint with one of the new dance quest and samurai was hint while the quest, about the armor in a box. the type of armor describe is used mostly by samurai.
and the end of the story quest it's more than a hint... maybe for the 2.3.

They do not say he was or is a thief. He learned to fight from/used to belong to a group of lawless individual. Gladiators can be lawless individuals. Conjurers can be lawless individuals. Thaumaturges can be lawless individuals. There were plenty of missions where there were non-tempered humans that are bad/lawless that try to hinder your progress. The Pirates of Limsa Lominsa are Marauders by weapon class, a few were Archers, and Conjurers. A Thaumaturge appeared as well if memory serves. Same with the Redbelly and the Couerl Poachers. They are Archer/Lancers mostly, some have Gladiators. A Class was not given for either of the characters. They know different fighting styles, but they can still give us skills in the Expansion related to existing classes.

A Group of thieves doesn't mean they were of the Thief Class. You can't read into the words that deeply. If I were charged with stealing from the Syndicate or Merchants of Uldah while I'm doing a Thaumaturge quest, I'm a Thief by title, not skill. My Class is Thaumaturge, but I am in every essence of the word, a thief.

Both could be changed to Assassins, given completely different weapons, because at this point, the Lore can be written this way and still fall into place.

Earliest we'll probably see a new Class will most likely be 2.5 if they just want to develop characters and give more overall world development and lore expansions. 2.2 is about the Maelstrom and their war with the Sahagin. This was the perfect time to incorporate the Musketeeers. Could still fit in with 2.25, but that's a quick fix update to this patch that were too unbalanced and other than adding more to the Zodiac weapons, there won't be many major things added. The wasted opportunity shows that they don't intend to include new classes at the best point in relationship to the class itself. So even though they talked about Yugiri teaching us more skills (she doesn't say teach us a new way to fight, only that she can share her knowledge of fighting with us, which is the same as unlocking new skills for our current classes.), this isn't a hint that we're getting a new class soon. Her tribe/race still has to settle in Eorzea, which won't happen until the expansion, as that's when the new race is available. She really won't have time to assist us by teaching us new things while she's busy arranging her people's passage and safeguarding their future in Eorzea, so her Class is more than likely to not appear until after the expansion when her people's settlement has ben cemented and they have carved out their own niche in Eorzea.

I talked to Thancred recently, non quest related & in Revenant's Toll I believe, & he definitely said he was a Bard.

Thancred's referral to himself as a bard is more, a lover of spinning stories to get laid. he's usually seen serenading different women, spinning tales so fantastic you'd believe him to be a bard by vocal trade, but not by battle skill. I'm sure he can play musical instruments fairly well as well, but his "bard" isn't the same as the Bard Job.

Program wise, his skill set is that of a Gladiator (I think he's programmed as a GLD class). Before he used a Gladiator's dagger as his only weapon and in Cut scenes he used knives.

That is a bit too soon I think but it up to SE. 2.2 introduction to her only served as a introduction to the Scout class by showing Scout's combat stance and some of Scout class skills.

As of now She is staying in Lisma to help teach other dagger users to master her fighting style which is only setting the stage for the Scout Guild to be developed later. With 2.X Story being the introduction to 1st expansion contents at most we will expect Scout to be released in 1st expansion unless they plan to release the class before first expansion during a 2.X update near the 1st expansion release ranging from maybe 2.4 or 2.5 since Yoshi-P did state new classes and jobs will appear through both Major updates and Expansions.

So far it seems SE have the general combat style of Scout class done now and the lore as well with the highest possibility that Scout weapons will be crafted by Blacksmith.

Now they needed the Guild location which we won't know until later Major Update.

Y'shtola clearly call him a thief, even the group at who he was belong call themself "honest thief".... he did choose to call himself a bard, but in the end it's a thief. he did learn to use the gladiator swordmanship (it's said too while the CS) after he did stop to steal.

the end of the story line is not a hint to something coming into 3 patch, it was clearly a massive teasing of the two new jobs. Thancred was the thief and Yugiri the ninja, even the way they was showed in action was a way to show the difference. either the class/job come for the 2.3 or the 2.4... but not the 2.5... or this massive teasing was stupid. the 2.5 is in 9 month. it's way too far. and don't hope for a class for the 2.25. he already have stated that mlost of the content of the 2.25 will be pvp oriented.

We'd better get Musketeer at the same time if not before and not replace Musketeer with the new class idea. Looks bad on the business when they don't provide what was promised. Musketeer is still being promised as, unlike Shepard, Musketeer's guild wasn't abolished in the remake.

You have your wording horribly skewered. She's calling him a thief, not saying he was a member of the Thief Class. That is saying the Sun is the Moon. I can be any current class in the game, do nothing but missions where I have to steal items from others. I am by the very defined nature of the word, a thief. My Class however is not that of the Thief Class. Stealing, living a thieves' life, and having a Class known as Thief are two completely different things.

His Class is Gladiator. His title according to Ysholta is Thief. His title according to himself is Bard. He's still a Gladiator.

I dont think all the new emote quests was a hint for a Dancer quest, but this quest "Help Me, Lord of the Dance" really did me think it.

Scout and Thief related classes add nothing to the game balance. They are DPS classes. That's still +1 DPS. Though its +1 Melee DPS further unbalancing the Ranged DPS to Melee DPS ratio.

Neither have any guarantee to be before the first expansion and they've been hinting Musketeer for 4 years. 9 Months is nothing. Its doubtful we'll even get it that far away. We could get the expansion by the end of this year, early next year. They've already started on it, and Yugiri's entire purpose in 2.2 was to highlight what is possibly coming in the Expansion itself.
