As a Tank, I never failed to down this place. Mainly because I knew how to protect my healer by picking up adds and stunning lunatic. As a DPS, it was hit or miss because of the tank not stunning and not picking up adds. As a healer... I never downed this fight. 1st boss, adds would rape me. 2nd boss, adds would rape me. Siren? I simply could not heal through this fight. Whether it was me being stun locked, being beaten to death by the walkers the whole time or simply no one else in the group helping out (not silencing/stunning and tunnel visioning the boss when adds spawn), I quit each of the few times I tried to heal it. And yes, I would explain each time what everyone needed to do and it never helped. After the last time I tried to heal this, I would always do HL as tank only.

I'm interested to try it again now after the nerf, but I likely never will as there's really no reason to anymore.

I've done this fight as a Healer, DPS and a Tank, from experience, the majority of the difficulty of Siren is when tanks fail to stun Lunatic Voice, at that point healing becomes crazy difficult. The first boss is made much easier if the tank goes around and attempts to pick up adds as they spawn.

Is the BGM on infinite loop? Haven't gone back there since 2.2 but was my favorite prior (now it's Lost City of Amdapor). If devs haven't looped the dungeon music, they need to do that in Pharos, that BGM is so damn nice imo.

Dfficult? The only "difficult" part of this entire dungeon is Symond the Unsinkable. Most of the time, DPS/healers don't know how to take him on (dem dawgz tho…) and end up wiping at least once. As tank, I pretty much expect that to happen whenever I get thrown into Pharaohs.

Siren… difficult? Since when? Maybe for healers (as I don't have any level 50 healers yet), but I've done it as both tanks and DRG/MNK. Never had any problems dealing with her mechanics. If she disappears and doesn't return to the middle, she's going Ifrit HM mode. If she comes back to the center, she's going Hydra mode. Not too hard to deal with if you think about it in those terms.

I never have a problem as a healer on the first boss, but man Siren. There are two problems: people not interrupting Lunatic's Voice, and DPS not focusing the sergeants. With the nerf, Lunatic's Voice isn't even that big a problem as long as your healer isn't stunlocked or your DPS aren't too stupid to get into the middle when she jumps there. I don't expect people to know it right away, but if the mechanics are explained beforehand and people choose not to read and mess it up, it's a really frustrating fight as a healer.

    C. Healer/BLM tanking
    D. DPS not realizing they're standing in crystal hell, thus explosions, etc.

Pharos was my favourite dungeon before they adjusted it. Sure, it could be painful with pugs, especially if me and my teammates were lacking a common language. But man, I was always so happy with myself after we downed Siren. I really liked the fight, it pushed myself to be aware of debuffs, adds' locations, my location when Siren jumps etc. I always felt so gleeful when I had stoneskinned and adlo'd the team and Siren's song would do nothing to the double bubbles.

But in the end I think the first boss was the toughest, because with so many overgeared DDs and dps races, many don't quite understand survival fights and where dpsing slow is better than pewpewing and getting overrun by a pack of rapid dogs. It's a nice change from the game's "do this asap or die" mentality.

Siren was not hard as long as the tank did his job, that meaning interupts.. if he didn't then this fight became almost impossible.

This dungeon was just a perfect example of people learning to play and do their jobs, if they didn't do their job correctly, the group wiped.

And as for the first boss, it just went to show people, being overgeared and just trying tank and spank wasn't always the smart thing to do.. I REALLY wish they would bring more of these type of fights.. we don't need dps races/tank n spank type fights, we need more teamwork type fights
