Doesnt necessarily mean martial arts like a ninja. Could be anything to do with combat. I should note im basing this off your post and havent done the quest in game to see more of the context of what shes saying.

Just wait till you see Thancred and Yugiri fighting some baddies later in the story line. You'll understand then

Can't wait to see it! I agree that "martial" doesn't necessarily mean THF/NIN, but I think it's safe to say that's a teaser of something new on the way.

Im more puzzled to know how thancred learned the arts of NIN. I can see NIN getting most of their potency increases by attacking the enemy from behind by the look of the cutscreens. I feel were in for a treat come 2.25.
