Can't download the update!? Is the problem on my side?

Hello everyone^^
I can't seem to be able to DL the patch. For some reason when i try to DL it gives me some wierd "Unable to complete version check" and cpl errors codes.

Am i alone in that situation?

Sounds like an internet problem to me. The only time I get that error is when the game cannot connect to the internet for one reason or another. But since you're here posting obviously your connection is working.

Yes, internet is fine, my sub is still good until Apr 16 and i can log into SE account management website.

Search for "unable to complete version check" and you'll see you're definitely not alone.

I was getting it after my PC locked up in the middle of downloading the patch. Had to restore a previous version of the game's Program Files folder. There's a huge thread from previous patches with a lot of other suggestions.

Found a solution ^^

go to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\ open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in word pad or notepad.

you should see this

<FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>

<Version>
Version 2
Language 1
Region 2
EulaAgreement 1
StartupCompleted 1
B4EulaAgreement 1
BootVersionCheckMode 0
ConfigReset 0

the line in bold is the key change the 0 to a 1 and it forces it to check version upon opening the launcher.

After doing this it updated launcher and the game fine.
