I'm getting a similar error as well and just posted a thread about it. (30413 10009 10019) http://sqex.to/x4w) I haven't had any issues prior to this either. It starts downloading and then stops at 4.51MB every single time. The estimated time climbs up to around 1700 hours as the DL speed drops to .01mb/s and it then pops up with the error....
Hi i had the same problem this morning : Unable to complete version check [30410][30607][20457][409]
I found a way that solved this for me by reading many posts on forums.
Go to :
C:\Users\''yourusername''\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
Open with blocknote :
FFXIV_BOOT.cfg file
You will have these lines or something similar :
<FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>
<Version>
Version 2
Language 1
Region 2
EulaAgreement 1
StartupCompleted 1
B4EulaAgreement 0
BootVersionCheckMode 0
ConfigReset 0
Modify and save it as follow :
<FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>
<Version>
Version 2
Language 1
Region 2
EulaAgreement 1
StartupCompleted 1
B4EulaAgreement 1
BootVersionCheckMode 1
ConfigReset 0
Save the file, close any FFXIV application and try again. It should download the patch after you enter your password.
Not the same problem. Version check is fine. Download of the patch fails. If you open the patch file it shows the current size. When your download reaches that size it fails. It should update the patch size and keep downloading. It may if you get lucky. But then it just fails when it reaches that new file size.

Same here. As I had posted before / on another thread, that 'fix' will only work for the launcher update/check, not the game update/check. I have yet to receive a reply from tech support through e-mail / PM / etc.
I also have this problem. Last update, i was able to get the updated files from my wife's computer, but it seems that this time, neither one of our computers will update.
I spent several hours yesterday trying to download the update patch, but there was no progress beyond 147MB.
This seems to happen to at least one of the four Pcs that i play FFXIV on every patch since 2.0 launch. This was never a problem in 1.0 because i could use a torrent download client in order to get the update finished.
to make matters worse, once the update is downloaded and installed, the update file is then deleted from the PC. If we had the last update file left intact, we could at least copy that file over to the other computers and use it, rather than copying the entire FFXIV directory.
Please SE, can we have an answer on how to download the patch? what is going on? can we have an alternate method of downloading?
It has been more than 24 hours since i started receiving this error and i have no hope in sight, other than to track down someone else who plays the game in my area and copy the files from their PC to mine. We used to have tehkrizz, but he has since stopped playing FFXIV and no more updates can be found from him.
additional info:
win 7.
cisco WRVN4400 router
brighthouse networks ISP
i havent tried to use the update in kubuntu yet, but when i get home from work, if this isnt working, ill try it
If SE could give us a little more info on what protocol and port they think our ISP might be blocking it would be of great help. otherwise we can just do a "netstat -a -n" before and after launching the client and see what new connection is there and what port it is using, then check to make sure that the ISP is not blocking it. However, i do not think that this is the case because i have experienced this problem in the past and usually one of my computers will download the update even though they are all on the same internet connection.
Okay so nothing worked to solve my issue. It appeared as though packets were being lost mid-download and this would cause the patch to fail. I used Cyberghost to connect using the free LA server and the problem went away. I am going to assume the patch server for some of us is taking a crappy route. It appears to get fixed using a free VPN (I don't have lag while playing and never had to use one until now) I assume people already using one, had no issues with the patch download.
