Feedback Regarding the Relic Upgrade Quest

The irony is, the XIV community was so adamant the "FFXI crowd" is so small that SE would and should never listen to them, so no it's far from XI because even in XI you could proc 100% drop rate on those Atmas.

Seriously though, people still don't understand the concept of keeping people busy until the next patch? They did this with LotA with the weekly lockout.

I just like that there are options. Don't want to farm FATE's? Ok, go do Leviathan. Don't want to do Leviathan? Ok, go do Masterworks. Don't want to do any of those? Farm T5. The amount of time actually end up spending will be about the same. Some of these are definitely harder than others, just less time-consuming. Some ways will be faster for some people depending on their schedule.

I know, but what about gear sets? 13500 miths means almost 3 AF+1 sets...

a) Should i have to spam T1-T5 and pray to the RNG God who has been avoiding me since 2.0? No, thanks
b) Should i buy/craft ilvl 90 recipes? no way, too expensive/insane to craft to get it. Doesn't worth it
c) Spam T6-T9? yeah, well, "good luck". I have no static for coils (never kill Twintania yet), so this option is not valid
d) Restaured weapons needs an unidentified tomesone... if it's a drop from T6-T9 i'm in the same situation than c)

I know i'm being exigent, but i really feel that i can't have "good gear" with at least the "one dps, one tank, one healer" setup. So i have to stick with my Monk and pray that it won't become useless in the future

Well RNG sucks sometimes, and I sure would enjoy seeing loads of players run around killing Ixalis
But I still prefer this to the other relic quests

Not to mention this is totally FFXI, pointing out one option that XI had in abyssea doesn't change the fact that everything else in FFXI was exactly the same, waiting around doing nothing until something pops then kill it and pray the RNG gods are on your side. It's really sad, but now i'm missing those "beat Dzemael in less than 13 minutes" requirements from 1.0.... and i hate them!

I love arguments like these that boil down to "there is something worse elsewhere so this thing is fine".

That's the funny thing, 1.0 wasn't 'elsewhere', it happened in this game. And my god was it so very much worse! I took part in alot of Hamlets and never once got a Hamlet token. And that wasn't even the hard part of the quest! So you have to go and score high in 12 Fates and hope you get the drop. Really, how is that different from the 'fun' of trying to get Odin Mantles or Behemoth Horns? I swear, people clamoured, "Not a dungeon, please!" and look, not a dungeon and still complaining... Yoshida can't win.

Let me get this straight. You don't want to buy it cause you are poor. You don't want to do the hardest stuff in the game because you don't get involved in it. You don't want to do medium difficulty raids that can be done through duty finder (T1T4). But you DO want super good gear for several jobs. Did i miss something ?

People bitched and moaned for a longer relic quest, SE gave them one. Now that its here, people will bitch and moan about it being too long. If you want your new weapon, you bettet get to it.
