It's so high so that it takes a while to do (unless you have no life and grind 24/7)
It's a cheap way of keeping you busy till the next patch.

That is incorrect, i have gotten my Animus and i still have a life i just used my time effectively and spent time grinding myth and not much else if you do that will have in no time.
In your opinion, no there isn't. However, whether you are right or wrong, there have been numerous threads on this subject, with thousands of complaints. Such a large number, at the very least, warrants a look. Even if they decide to do nothing for now.
There's no way you have a part time or full time job. Which is what I consider to be "a life"
Maybe people can't just accept the fact that grinding is a part of the rpg experience, because not everyone is lucky or stuff like that, all I see is just more complaints for the sake of complaining
I've never been another sheep in the pack. Also my boss like me and also do stuff because I'm usually havin more good sense and personnal opinions than the other guys that got the same lot of responsabilities, what is this seriously about ? people beein unhappy about low drop rate when the game director himself said that not everybody will have their weapon ?108 pages disagree with your opinion.
You guys are just stucked in the "I must have this because why not". I got a sort of news for all of you : since the start this was never designed for everyone to be rewarded. So get over it and find something else to do aka, Levi EX / Coils ?
A system like this is far worse than the ones implented in some old crappy MMORPGs I used to play. At least in those MMORPGs, player actually had an alternative path to get the same rare drop: PURCHASE it with in-game money. Here you could easly give the option to get the Atma you need by trading it with GC seals
Twintania - Leviathan EX - 2nd Coils of Bahamut when you ll have enough ilvl100 gear.
Just stop to be greedy.

Haha actually i do have a part time job but only on weekends so what are you talking about? So yes i do have a life thank you very much and i also do university work in my breaks and spare time. Just because someone was able to obtain something in a short duration of time doesn't mean they have no life.

i don't see any valid point from your side too... you say nothing need to be fix and that grind is part of the rpg experience. sadly we are not into a Rpg but into a mmorpg... that something people seems to forget often.
the main point of the mmorpg is not raid, nor pvp, nor grind (like you say) but to meet and do thing with people.
mindless grind and time sink like this don't help to reach this goal. people will simply find the best and most efficient way to do it and simply ignore the other.
for the atma part, exept rare case, in the lower area the fate are simply destroyed by the zerg and the player of the right level simply can't participate into it. nullifying the interest of the fate since they are made first for the player of the right level.
for the myth part, people tend to do the farming of the 2 first boss of brayflox... it's the most efficient way to do it, exept if you do it into your FC, in pug people will barely talk, since they look for the best ratio myth/time... and talking can affect it.
for the book part, they are stuff you can do in solo, it's almost pointless to talk to people around you or interact with them.
all of this for say it's a big time sink... for solo player more than group player. i play with someone and i can't see how we will be able to complet it together, since get atma is totally random. my friend can have them before me or after me...
if you want grind, fine for you, but i doubt they can't make better content. they have all the tools for! they need to offer more interesting and more challenging content. and more important... more fair. put random into a quest like this... will never make it more fun or interesting.
people have give valid point into this thread about the trouble link to that. you? nothing exept be rude and don't give any proof that this system is good. a looot of people, most of the community saying is bad and you say is not. give us a valid reason of it's good. but i doubt you can.
ps: in solo rpg grind is needed for increase the duration of the game... in mmorpg is not needed, we have more activity and stuff to do.
9 freaking hrs today changing zones every 2 hrs and not a single atma dropped for me. THIS QUEST SUCKS SE!
Books are plenty of a grind by themselves, the Atma portion is just a big kick in the nuts to the casual playerbase, to be quite honest. I'm not surprised people have left the game over it, and I'm dumbfounded by the decision to create such mind numbing content. At the very least the drop rate needs to be made more sensible, ANYTHING basically, to give people more tangible rewards for their time. It feels like rushed content, plain and simple. Casually doing FATE's alongside beastmen quests and other content since the patch I have one Atma to show for it (from about 150 fates), If I'd been lucky I'd have a lot more, but it hasn't been the case.
The Moogle upgrade system in XI comes out smelling like roses next to the Relic Atma upgrade system. How have we taken so many steps backwards in a game that's supposed to be more modern?
