actually im not, don't even have the alch 50 gear yet. but looking at it alchemy is the logical choice to make it. as I said require ALL LEVEL 50's to make items needed for atma then alchemy to make the actual atma. how bout ya read first![]()

please read my original post RNG is needed in an mmo for it to survive but RNG has its place and its not in an event like this.Pretty much. Can you imagine D2 without RNG? Its the thrill of getting that super rare items that kept people playing that game for more than 10 years. Same for older mmos like RO, rose, maple and even ffXI. It was Wow that started the whole quest tracker and progress log thing that seriously made the genre feel like a grind. Kill 10 of this, kill 10 of that, collect reward, profit. For me, having a progress tracker and knowing how much more I have to do to complete my objective feels awfully like a job to me. At least for rng, you never know whats going to happen.
And btw, the grandfather of rpg is the D&D system, which again was used in highly popular games like Baldur's gate 1/2 and Neverwinter Night 1/2. If you don't think even a modicum of rng should exist in ffxiv, then I question why you are playing an MMORPG.

Oh wow, 3 hours and nothing, this is absolute rubbish.
Amazing way to upgrade my relic. What creativity.
I don't mind RNG, but I do mind FATEs.
It would have been different if it was, dunno, get a key item by killing x mobs until it drops.

I did.
This sound awfully like kill 10 squiirels = turn in quest = collect xp and reward. You telling me that RELIC weapon in the game should be gotten from a quest?

This is not an option since your only weapon that gives usefull stats is that one, the others PLD weapons are useless.People are just mad because this quest requires them to put forth a little bit of effort. They can't hand 1mil Gil to a group of 7 to buy their weapons in this case. This quest is not for everyone. It's for the ones that want this type of game progression. The players that want to be carried can still be carried and get instant gratification by killing their primals etc.
I'm sorry but complaining about this quest isn't going to make this game better when this is exactly the type of content a lot people were asking for. Remember all those "I want xiv to be more like XI". SE is listening and trying to cater to everyone...don't like this part of the game do a different part.
This isn't a mandatory quest to stay current on gear, just an option.

Wait what?
Ex Levi Weapon, High Allagan Weapon and in your case Burtgang are all on par with Animus, so you have 3 different options. Burtgang and High Allagan are actually better btw.

Did you even read those weapons' stats or...? criticalò hit rate? what paladin needs critical hit rate?
Maybe it's just me, but any sort of challenge... or difficulty... or... anything... would've been better suited for a Relic upgrade than a huge time sink. It's not like you have to be good to get these upgrades, just have enough time to invest in getting all the Atma pieces. Even the book system for the Animus weapon is better, at least you have to Collect A Thing then Do Specific Things That Might Get Harder Per Book. Even if it's not challenging, at least it isn't based on just how lucky you can get with the time you spend in the game.
