Question becomes, after you completed this quest, do you have to redo it again for another weapon?

Personally, this seems to be a 1 time only quest as it doesn't have the name of the weapon in ( ). Like Relic Reborn ( Gae Bolg).

Though this may be frustrating for some, it looks to be a 1 and done quest. It's the Trials that you have to do every weapon for.

Fair assumption to make seeing how we can obtain more than a single piece of the same type of atma at a time.

The worst thing is that after all the grind you have to go through to get your Atma weapon (ilvl 100), you notice there's no difference whatsoever with the Relic Zenith (ilvl 90). Same stats, same DMG, same DPS, yet it's ilvl 100 out of nowhere. Now that there is a load of bullcrap.

Tidal Wave Shamshir (ilvl 100) is a LOT better than the Atma Relic.
    Comparison:
    Tidal Wave Shamshir: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...m/d32955f726f/
    Curtana Atma: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...m/c47c20d73a5/

Then after getting your pretty Atma Relic, after all that mindless grind, you have to get your Animus Relic, which is still ilvl 100, but it ACTUALLY has improvements:
    Curtana Animus: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...m/24dc485b4c8/

I bet you guys already know you need to spend 13500 Myths in total to get your Animus Relic, right? So... yay for more grind! **Sarcasm**

Thats the point. Animus is suppose to be the better one, but you have to get Atma first.

This is what happens when people cry for more challenging content, but then cry about how hard the dungeons are.

The problem isn't that you have to do fates, but the drop rate of the Atmas is way too low, and after you get your atma (which doesn't change anything stat-wise) you need to grind 13500 myths in order to get your Animus. Now let's do some math. Assuming you're doing Amdapor, Brayflox HM and Halatali HM; it would take 270 runs to get enough myths for the Animus books ALONE (not to mention the grind they include in and of itself). Now, how many soldiery tomes would you get with 270 Amdapor/Halatali/Brayflox runs? You would get 12150 TOTAL. You still have the weekly cap, so if you're doing the grind for your Animus you're losing a lot of soldiery tomes; 12150 Soldiery tomes are 27 weeks of full-capping. TWENTY-SEVEN WEEKS, and 2.3 should (supposedly) come out in 12 weeks (3 months).

What I'm trying to get at is that the Atma / Animus isn't something most people will have the patience to do, it's excessively grindy. There will always be people able to endure the grind, but I wouldn't call them "Hardcore" or "Skilled" gamers while calling us "Casual" and "Unskilled". The players that will be able to complete the Atma / Animus Relic quest have WAY too much time in their hands (I mean no offense by this), and they have great deals of patience. In the end people will be beating T9 without Animus, which will make all that past grind worthless, because everyone will be in Allagan gear.

PS: I can't belive this forum has a 1000 character cap... What is this, 2010?

Also please forgive any inconsistencies with my grammar, English isn't my mother language.

One problem with your math here is that there are other ways to obtain myths besides the new dungeons, with some of them actually giving more Myth (like the daily duty roulette).

The other problem is that you assume that a player should stop farming Myths once they reach the Soldiery cap otherwise they'll get "wasted", when in fact nothing prevents you from continuing to farm them. So going "TWENTY-SEVEN WEEKS" is meaningless.

Either way, it's a grind to get all that Myth, but it doesn't take 27 weeks.

He is also assuming that they won't adjust tome rates in 2.3 like they did in 2.1. I suspect they will make adjustments then, if not sooner, and tomes will be obtained at a more favorable rate.
