    Even if you don't mind the grindiness... or the rng element... I still think that the extreme rehash of FATES is terrible design. These are FATES that many have already grinded through multiple times to level characters. Now you have to go back and do an extreme rehash for a new item. That's not new content... that's extreme pharming recycling of old content.

    My primary concern was that the dev team was brilliant at translating an old game into a new one, but lacked creativity or innovation for new content. The prior rehashing of content further exacerbated this concern. The current patch confirms it. I understand that content takes time to develop.... but the absolutely absurd amount of recycling happening in this game is appalling to me. Release a new zone with FATES, and make people grind those FATES. Each patch being a new fight... a couple of new rooms in coil, one new instance, and a massive amount of rehashed content just isn't showing any signs of innovation to me.

    with a 5% drop rate, that's 20 FATEs,

    so just us give us 12 quests that have us do 20 FATEs in each zone for the Atma.

    or if they want players to "experience" all the content, how many unique FATEs are there per zone 10 maybe 12? just make the quest have us complete every FATE in each zone twice (preferably on any job so the XP doesn't go to waste).

    most importantly, give us a log so we can see real progress after each one.

    Can I point out my experiences from earlier today of me trying to level my THM at level 9? I couldnt hit ONE DAMN TARGET because now 25+ others, such as those with more immediate spells/skills, are stealing the show. It is unfair to us that we cant level properly or as quickly as those a month before us could.

    killed 100+ fates and have not got a single item yet een in partys where same person got multiples of teh same drop item within 10 minutes thats beyond random

    There are grinds that are fun for a long time and then gets boring.

    Then there are grinds that just starts out boring and mindless.

    Not all grinds are created equal.

    well its not a problem with rng its self. Rng is expected and needed in a game to survive and keep ppl playing. Where the problem comes in is how one uses rng, loot from boss is expected to be rng. Your lengthy time consuming epic legendary quest shouldn't be just pure luck. One should always see a steady progress, its frustrating to players who grind 12 hours to see one and they don't know when or if they'll see another, but if you say hey you can only get one (guaranteed) every 12 hours through this LONG complicated chain then its not that bad because one sees the progression and where its going.

    They are using RNG to compensate for their failure to actually design a grand quest. RNG Fate grinding sucks, it's no secret and SE has been told many many many times by their PAYING playerbase it sucks. They don't seem to care, or they must have that one employee in the basement in charge of relic quests that everyone is afraid to fire! I can understand RNG to a point......but this is ridiculous and I have not even started mine yet. I honestly don't think I will because I do not have 5 hours a night to put into a game. I raid a couple nights a week, so I guess I will have to stick with that seeing it would probably take a year to finish this how things are now.

    I dont mind having to grind to get my item But this instants is some BS, The Development team that wrote this code for these item drops needs to be fired. I spent 8hrs Straight last night in central thanalan for it Atma, Spent 20mins in Central Shroud WTH, then about 1hour in South Thanalan, Now im in Upper La Noscea been here for 4hrs and still counting, SO yeah this Need to be fixed, I spend time farm ALL HQ mats for 99x Lava toad legs and 99x Black Truffle Risotto so yeah

    there no sense of progress and its very frustrating to do without some occasional reward feeling , i think i might give up on collecting it completely , not because its impossible to do or i wouldnt have the patience and time to do so ... because doing it feels boring , annoying anf frustrating after a certain timeframe and ill rather use my precious free time with games that entertain me and make me feel good about playing them , this random fate madness is the complete opposite of fun

    FATE grinding isn't fun (which is why I don't do it to level up my classes), so I'm certainly not looking forward to doing this part of the quest when it's time.

    But people complaining about RNG and it taking a long time to do when it hasn't even been 48 hours since the patch was released and there are already people running around with Atma weapons is simply silly.

    Let's see if SE caves in to the complaints like they've done before. If they do it means that it's very likely that FFXIV will never have time consuming activities.
