Yugiri CLEARLY uses the same skeleton as Miqo'te girls. A quick examination of her animations show that hers are identical to Miqos. Look REALLY close and see that Y'shtola is either always put out of frame or in a unique pose when near Yugiri.

As for her race, I'm guessing they took the Vian'gaa concept and made modifications to make them a more attractive option. Hopefully with their own emotes when the time comes for her proper reveal.

This is my hope and guess, too.

As another theory, I noticed that the tuffs on the base of her tail look more like thick spines sticking out, which immediately reminds me of hedgehogs. HMMM.
The spikes would make for some fun hair styles....

I dunno, the tail does not look scaly to me at all, almost looks like layers of fur hence the tuft at the base of the tail rather than the tip. That and the ears dont match any "lizard" I've ever seen. I think it will either be a Viera, one of these guys, or might even be something we have not yet seen in any final fantasy. The last one i mentioned is the one I'm really hoping for. Its nice to have all these nods to older FF games and I love the fan service but I would like to see some Classes, Jobs, and Races that are utterly unique to the final fantasy universe and only exists in THIS one. At least for now.

Or you know it could be neither Baangaa, Viera or whatever. But.

Something new, a new race designed for FFXIV and not based on any previous races. Not every FF had every race, and there was unique races in some FF games.

So why not a unique race in FFXIV?

But my theory ^_^ If her race has draconian features then that would explain the need to keep covered giving her the chance to prove herself before unveiling otherwise everyone may not see past the draconion features with the war in Ishgard.
