Please just promise me you won't weaken Dragoons by giving us wyverns again. Please, tell Yoshida it's all about the Jump, please. ; ;

Jump, elemental breath cone, spears and stabby things. They just need to look at FFTA Dragoons and it'll all be okay. They were pretty bad ass without wyverns.

Would be nice if they'll make it so the wyverns stats would depend on the gear/weapon the Dragoon is using, shouldn't be too bad then. And also make it so the wyvern is immune to all dmging Aoe effects, would make sense for a flying wyvern to avoid dmging aoes.

as long as were talking pets, what about necromancer.

The lore can be shaped anyway they want it to, as the main storyline isn't even finished.
And, hmm, if we use Thm and Con's current lists to outline along with FF11 abilities... I think this is neat.
R1: Soul Dart, Diamond Dust, Hellfire, Terrestrial Rage, Aerial Ire, Tidal Wave, Judgement Bolt, Prominence (MP restoring)
R2: Self buff
R4: Healing Ruby (Cure type, large AoE)
R6: Aerial Armor (Blink/Decoy AoE)
R8: Frost Armor (Shock Spikes, Ice based though)
R10: Effulgence (Weaponskill drains MP)
R12: (Skill that inflicts some sort of dot)
R14: Self Buff
R16: Earthen Ward (Stoneskin effect, stacks with Stoneskin)
R18: Self Buff
R20: Healing Ruby II
R22: Debuff
R24: Judgement Bolt II, Hellfire II, Aerial Ire II, Terrestrial Rage II, Diamond Dust II, Tidal Wave II
R26: Self buff
R28: Chaotic Strike (AoE Thunder/Stun attack)
R30: Weapon Skill
R32: Fleet Wind (Quick effect, Aoe)
R34: Self Buff
R36: (Tier II DoT skill)
R38: Phoenix Flame (AoE Res)
R40: Self Buff
R42: Earthen Ward II, Frost Armor II
R44: Mega Flare
R46: Self buff
R48: Healing Ruby III
R50: Weaponskill II, Tier II Self buff
Heh, again, just for example.
Beastmaster, yes please.
It'd be extra grindy, so I'm unsure anyone else would find that same fun in it as I do. But, I always wanted a beastmaster type job wherein your pets are individually leveled and raised. I didn't quite care for using local disposable fauna just to let my pet die and move onto the next unsuspecting target in range. I rather enjoyed the bond between my dragoon's wyvern as we adventured together and grew as partners over the course of the game.
Or even carbuncle and friends on my summoner job.
I'd kind of like to see a system where how much you tend to and care with your pet effects how effective they ultimately are.
Aside from my girly rearing views on pets, I'd like to see some level of level of customization available. Perhaps some color options for animal pets (not summons), the ability to create our own names and not be forced to choose from a predecided list, and the ability to buy visable pet accessories such as armor.
And lastly, as a side note. If dragoon of this game is sans wyvern I would personally be extremely devistated and likely loose motive to play. The idea of just being lancer with jump action added to my repitoire (which according to the dats was already planned anyway) doesn't feel creative or interesting.
For those whom worry about dragoon becoming weaker due to the addition of a pet, I can say that in my experiance in FFXI I simply have to disagree to that thought, but others may have had different gameplay. I won't go into it though in fear of trolling backlash. ^^;
I do think that wyvern could be integrated in new and innovative ways into XIV, especially seeing how many of the mechanics would automatically have to be different do to lack of subjobs, skill chaining, and many other aspects.
That's just my personal feelings on it, you're of course welcome to your own. ^^;

I want my Dragoon to have a wyvern though!That's what made it stand out to me and motivated me to play it in the first place, which then motivated me to honor it by taking my Lancer in FF XIV to R50 first and have it end up becoming my favorite class in the both games. I want my Jump and Wyvern back if they do consider it! >.< But I respect others opinions as well.
I've never really gotten the appeal of jousting, unless it's a class, and Yoshi stated it won't be. I don't know, I'm not a big fan of leveling my character only to do content that requires me to control something other than my character. I'm not against it being optional content though. Maybe it will be done better than WoW's jousting system, because that was downright annoying.
