    The server isn't responding

Hello SE, will you please fix this for future update

I've done and read the way people fix this, the result is none. Like change router, disable adds-on, firewall, antivirus, open port, etc. Including from this thread : http://support.eu.square-enix.com/fa...la=2&kid=67515

FYI, my connection is really fine. I can download & updating other MMO Japanese game or NA/ EU games without any problem at all.

I've had this issue since patch 2.1 until now even small 6mb maintenance patch taking more than 30 minutes because i have to re-type password and OTP everytimes i meet this error.

Just for patch 2.1 i spent 30 hours download total and now patch 2.2 took 8 hours and 50+ times re-typing the password and OTP. I can't leave my laptop since i need to stay and watch the screen if i was getting the error.

I hope you guys do something for fixing this issue. Thank you in advance.

Servers are still down for the Instance Server maintenance and the 2.2 patch update, so some of the updates may not be available for another 10 or 12 hours, but in the mean time here are a few things to check if you haven't tried already:

Are you able to successfully ping or trace to these DNS names?

    patch-gamever.ffxiv.com
    (should resolve to 124.150.157.126)

    neolobby02.ffxiv.com
    (should resolve to 199.91.189.74)

Those are two names hard-coded into the executables for servers in JP and CA. If they aren't resolving/connecting consistently, there may infact be a communication problem between your client and their servers.

Have you scanned for malware (malwarebytes.org has a nice free one that many companies refer users to)? Some have reported having redirectors installed that have been at fault. Double check your installed programs list (appwiz.cpl in the search/run box will pull up the add/remove programs list). If you see anything unfamiliar in there, may want to research it to see if it may be something malicious that is causing problems.

could check this IP to see if you can ping/trace to it also... looks like the one I was downloading the patch from last time:

    24.143.200.227

    Edit:
Just logged in (got the quick version check update immediately), and connected for the big patch (again, from 24.143.200.227.. looks like a mirror they have with Akamai). This one is a big one again... a little under 2GB (1998.64MB). Estimated time was 24 minutes for me, and I'm pulling down at 16.2Mbit. It's possible the servers could get a bit too busy and some may need to wait for the traffic to level off a bit to get in and download it reliably.

Yes, i always have command prompt up when playing or updating. There was no RTO (request time out) at all when updating, the ping is stable.

Using malwarebytes anti-malware scanned it almost everymonth or if i remember. And there are no suspicious program like 'SavingsbullFilterService' or 'Quick knowledge' on my program list. FF XIV launcher is fine for me... the problem came only when updating from big patch or small patch.
