Already posted this in the "Unique FFXIV media" thread but will probably not get many peoples attention on its 17th page, this is a video on FFXIVs scenery from all zones. Thought people should see whats beyond Ul'dah's walls and outside the crafting guilds. Lots of beautiful areas in this game, it's a shame they go unnoticed due to the lack of content and hopefully further patching fixes that.

It's beautiful for sure but the fact that the video shoes those "beautiful" places in such a fast pace just hides the fact that the zones as a whole looks bland and copy/pasted with a lack of life and variety. You don't see that in snapshots. The video last 5mins, and that is about all there is to see in Eorzea, 5min of variety, the rest is all the same bland lifeless landscape.

I try my best to fit the video to the soundtrack, can't have slow footage without it being synced with the soundtrack, dont you agree? Yes, it's a shame that they copy/pasted areas but i actually left out a lot of footage so the video would end with the music and i'm sure i missed plenty of other areas since i didn't have the hard drive space to cover all of Ul'dah, LL, BS, Coartheas, MorT zones.

You are not allowed to be a fan on this forum without getting flamed... well unless you are a tera fan or GW2 fan talking about how good that game is. Anything positives about FFXIV will get you slammed here.

There are alot of good looking places that video did show, those who think that is it.. well need to try leveling outside of leves and outside of Uldah. Half the people I do not think even been to Corethas let alone other areas like Brittlebark, Crimsonbark, Riversmeet, and the nodes north of Treespeak. People spend too much time handing out in the worst looking zone of all... Uldah.

Yea i've been mostly stalking these forums since the beginning (and plenty others, its the same everywhere) so i guess i knew what was coming, but i do respect peoples opinions and thanks to those who enjoyed it

Not putting your taste in question, you are entitled to your opinion. But can you honestly say that the world in FFXIV is fine as it is and that each zones are bursting with details and variety that makes you go "WOW" even after you spent 5 min in that zone? The zones are empty, there are next to no landmarks, the plants/trees/rocks are repeated every 2 steps (like the stupid plant in Thanalan surrounded with flowers that is EVERYWHERE in that zone with no alterations, etc)

The video he made is fine, just saying that Eorzea in a whole is not that great and we pretty much seen it all in that 5 min video, which is really sad. You can basically show the video to a friend and say "you have just explored all of eorzea, grats!" because there is nothing else to see that is worth mentioning.

Not only vegetations and stuff are repeated, but the whole layout of the landscape is repeated everyone within each zones. So yes, it's fine to be a fan, but there is such a thing as a blind fan that will accept anything just because it has SE's name on it, and fans that, while they like what SE did in the past, are not buying into just any crap handed to them.

Useless commentary really. Nice way to be a total kill joy and have absolutely nothing to say about the video itself.

Nice vid. I liked how you matched your cutting with the music, it starts off really well and keeps the viewer entertained. But then in the middle with the standing still scenes where you show the clouds moving it gets a bit boring, and then for a bit the scenes you picked and how you put them together gets weird.

Then you move back to what you where doing in the beginning and it ends pretty well. Overall really enjoyed game music vid, be proud because not many people can pull them off easily. I think if you do more you'd make some really awesome vids. *thumbs up*

Oh yeah I like that you used different angles in your shots too.

edit: Don't worry too much about people not liking your choice of music, that's going to happen pretty much no matter what unless you pick something we all know and love. As long as the music matches well with your movement and what you are trying to show, you are doing well.

Of all the post bashing his video/choice of music/editing skills, you pick mine to bash, really? I didn't say anything to hurt the OP, the vid is nice and the clips he chose are beautiful. I still think that Eorzea is a bland world that lacks badly of uniqueness and diversity.

NO REALLY!? NO ONE KNEW THAT. THANKS CAPTAIN OBVIOUS. jesus christ. Yes, there isn't that many unique areas in the game, but there are some things still worth looking at even if everything else is copy/pasted. Thank you OP for trying.

I have nothing against you but I think you are overreacting a bit too much. What I said was civil and I had every right to state my opinion on the matter. Even if it has been stated over and over, I still can do it if I wish to.

I do agree that people could be a little more polite when critisizing the video, obviously there was work put into it and the video in itself is great and nicely done. People can have their opinion but there's no call really to just say that in such a mean way.
