Anyone else disappointed with the lack of variety in Monk gear?

Or to be more specific, it just feel like most gear sets have a theme that makes us look like thugs / bandits, strip-club pirates, and just generally degenerates that look like they're gonna sock you in the stomach and take your lunch money. There's pretty much no gear outside of the Temple / Melee set that really makes us look like actual martial artists. The mages look like mages, the Paladins look like knights...but us? Even the new soldiery set continues the thug/bandit motif with the partly-concealed face and un-heroic / noble looking garb

The Gryphonskin set is...okay...if you hide the headpiece. And the Melee gear, while it's the closest thing to an actual martial arts set we have, is of course that obnoxious yellow colour. CT gear is more ninja like, but I'll take it. Those aside, we have to settle for looking like thieves, or glamour up with sets that don't embody what you'd associate with a monk / martial artist either.



^We have this to look forward to at an unspecified time in the future, but why can't we have stuff to make us look more like a hero of light, as opposed to some nocturnal street bully?

What if I like being the street bully? Who will stand up for the bullys if we all look like warriors of light?

That MNK gear looks like Erzas' from Fairy Tail. Anyway, there is only so much a monk can wear when he still looks like a monk. They have already done the Shaolin monk style. Maybe OP you could do some design for a monk costume and see how hard it is to make a monk look like a monk and keep it all looking interesting.

I always felt Ragnarok Online's Champion design was the best fit for a monk class.

This set for monk just keeps reminding me of Korra.

I think a lot of the new gear sets look pretty awful, not just the MNK outfits...

That said, I actually like the MNK outfit from that concept art.

I don't have a problem with the current theme, just the sheer amount of sets that follow it with hardly any being "traditional". Had high hopes for the soldiery gear, but nope, another bandit mask :P

FF11 monk was awsome! Just plain rugged h2h with emphasis on martial art with abilities and equipments that looked really cool. FF14...griffin, cat, dog, snake...wth? Our armors look really girly too with vest/sleeve/pants.


...The best part was attacking twice which stands to reason...and the ability to counter which made us distinctively different from mages and other melees

Not to mention the limited tanking skill...
