Fist time tanking in a dungeon

I don't know if that works for someone else too, but I have the impression that if I tell a group it is the first time tanking on a dungeon, some smart dps will have the fun of targetting wrong mobs just for the lol of taking away aggro and then bitching I'm a bad tank.

First time tanking, it is not first time playing the game. I just found a good number of dps who does that on purpose.

Is that a common issue or I am just unlucky?

Its quite common, but like anything else, practice makes perfect, and soon no1 will take aggro from you, to matter what they do!!!!

The majority of damage dealers in df ignores kill order. And beyond that, healer gets aggro from all monsters you're engaging so you should mantain aggro on the entire mob grp you've pulled unless you have no flash and mobs are slept. If you lose aggro from the pulled mob group some complaints are justified. Get youself better weapon and revise your rotations.

But if a dd have a habit of pulling monsters, inform him that if he wants to do tank's job so badly you'll let him do it and don't pick aggro from him when he pulls before you.

I leveled my tank in dungeons and I've never encountered toxic behaviour even when I performed poorly. The only case was with two ACNs that trolled me by tanking the whole Halatali when I just started the class.

There are always DPS like that, just let them tank the mob they attacking, since you already place kill order, it's not your fault.

Ho yes, I always take major aggro skill cd ready for healer in case he gets aggro. The issue was just with some dps, healer never got aggro even when I am using the most basics of rotation, just pull and a couple of flash, then a flash every 2 or 3 skills.

On a side note, I am now levelling the lancer and never got aggro, even with the most bad tank I were with. I just take a look on aggro warnings and change mob if mine does go red zone, and finish job when he turns green again. My own opinion is that a bad tank makes things just a little slower, but taking aggro is mainly dps careless, ignoring aggro warnings.

If you marked mobs and DPS are taking aggro on wrong target, its their fault. Unless its 3+ mobs and they go into AoE rotation or you forgot to flash a few times and they get aggro simply by dotting all the mobs. But, as Valmar said earlier, consider it practice.
