People mention that somebody needs to get an item, another doesn't know what the big deal about it is, so they ask about stats. In most MMOs, you just linked the item, the person looks at it, and they go "OH MY~ I see why I need it." In this game, this was not possible until now to link it. It's more a quality of life change than anything, but a pretty big one.
