More chocobos

Aside from the Company Chocobo, it'd be nice to have a literal Companion Chocobo (an idea; work with me here):

Craftable Bardings - Armorer/Leatherworker/Weaver Recipes
Different colors (dye your chocobo? lol)
Stats. Or perhaps specialties: In conjuction with earlier comments regarding the dev team wanting to add choco-breeding, how about variants that are faster (travelling speed), stronger in combat (within reason), or able to cast basic abilities/spells (beyond Choco Regen)?
Plumage: Now this might sound weird, but given that there have been many different designs for chocobo throughout the FF series, why not variations through plumage/appearance beyond color? I personally would love a white chocobo with a cockatiel-like crest, or a blue one with a swallow-like tail.

As the trend is to introduce new content through quests, perhaps the Companion Chocobo can be worked into the scenario? Perhaps you lose your Company Chocobo during a battle (not a death, perhaps just a "separation" for those who may be attached to their fully-leveled friends), and thus need a new steed? Bam! Choco-breeding, and your very own Companion Chocobo!
