Swift - marginally useful, people usually sprint anyway.
Requiem - Our best song, should use as much as possible if you have a mage.
Ballad - 2nd most useful skill, in theory shouldn't be needed except for endurance events like T4.
Paeon - I used this for a War once in AK, he kept yelling about being out of tp...
Where is my Physical Def+ song?
Regen Song?
Physical attack + song?
Sleep song?
I found a bard once that was singing all the time. He started with foe requiem (And the other DPS was a Dragoon), them he went to mage ballad when I explained him that it has no sense. It took me 5 minutes asking him as a healer not to sing it. Them he started with the TP song........I felt I was being trolled, but even them I said that I thought it was not worth it and asked the other dragon to tell if he needed or not.
In the I didn't know if I wanted to commit suicide or genocide
So... In easy level content I prefer bards that don't sing at all to those that do it badly
In hard lvl content just don't group up with those bards![]()
I would like thank all Bards that has played Mage's Ballad for me when needed this way.
It's such a relief to play with Bard in a party that actually pays some attention to my (our) MPs and I can rely on them singing for me.
All the love for you, Bards! <3

I personally would like to see swiftsong boost speed while MP pool is available... This would be nice for Titan Ex where pools of death await.
I rarely use Paeon anymore - only long drawn out boss fights, and it comes second to Mage's Ballad. Most damage dealing classes should have access to Invigorate. I use this as a BRD... DRG/MNK should have access too it as well, I believe. The only other people that should use TP are Tanks, and as a tank, I've had little need for TP.
Also, to any non-Bard who uses MP... do yourself and set up a macro with something to the effect of "/p Bard, please play Ballad".
This makes it so you can request it with minimal downtime, and the bard can focus on the battle more so than the MP. I realize it's still the Bards job to focus on this, but we need to help each other out!
I have a macro saying when I've used it, and it plays <se.8> ^_^

If it's a DPS race fight, I'll normally play Foes until I'm under 1K MP and then turn it off in case the healer ends up needing Mage Balad. Otherwise, I'm normally wary of using Foes because if I tunnel vision at all, my MP can be gone quick and then I may not be able to MB if a healer needs it. Either way, It really is best for Bards to learn the best times to play which songs. For a fight like Titan, for instance, Foe during heart (If you have some magic using DPS) and then Balad at some point during the final phase when healing is more intense.

So doing turning coil of Bahamut, and I ask for our Bard to play Mage's Ballad. He refuses. I asked him again, I need mage's ballad please. I'm sitting on 500mp on phase 6 of turn 4. Again, he tells me no. We wipe because I ran out of MP.
I asked him, "What's your problem? Why didn't you play the song?" His response was, "You suck as a healer. You take my songs for granted and you don't watch your mana pool. I can't deal damage because you can't control your casts." -_-
I looked at him like,
and said,"Then quit getting hit!" I can't heal you if I run out of magic to heal you!
Of course he was acting all,
and gave me a lecture that everyone else is terrible because they're not playing their roles correctly.
And now my team is like,
So we voted to kick him after the third wipe because he still refused to play Mage's Ballad. :3

I hate the stupid " it shouldn't be really used anyways" mentality.
If it was made for u to use it then by all means use it.
What else are bards good for?
More than half the time bards are the ones who eat aoes.
So if ur going to be 1 of the lowest damage dps class, u might aswell make them songs be put to good use.
Cuz we all know we would rather have a monk play us mage's ballad.
So what gives?
Is it your "benediction"?
I see this all the time in CT.
The other healer dies so I have to raise. Which means i need to burn a crap load of MP to get them up then solo heal for a bit. The raised healer has crap for MP after getting up. What are the BRD's doing? Farting around with full MP.

I don't honestly care why the healer is low on Mana. As a bard, Balad is one of the main reason's I'm useful to a group. If I see that the healer is low (Especially under 1.5K), I go ahead and assume they've used their CDs already and Balad + Voice. Once their Mana is back up over 3K or so, I turn it off and keep doing my thing.
If the party needed another pure DPS, they'd have brought along something other than a Bard. If you don't want to support your part, don't play a semi support role.
