Dear Bards,

I know it's not required but it would be nice to hear you play a few songs every once in awhile for the party

If your in a party full of magic DPS, it would be much appreciated to hear you play Foe's Requiem. It doesn't even lower your damage by 20%

If a healer is low on MP, has their Shroud of Saints on cool down, no more Aetherflow/Enery Drains, scraping at the bottom of the barrel to try to keep you and the pt alive... It would be helpful if you could play Mage's Ballad for them.

Healer still low on MP after a big pull? Go ahead and sing Mage's Ballad to regen their MP faster between pulls!

If you or your party has a long walk, it would be nice to hear you play Swift Song and speed up the process a bit. Maybe play it after a wipe on a boss because your healer ran out of mp and you refused to play Mage's Ballad.

But seriously, I don't know if I have the worst luck but lately I've been getting a lot of Bards you refuse to sing at all even when asked nicely. ._.

I have no problem using songs when needed. It's when the healer is at 90% MP asking for ballad that I'm just like "ummmm no".

Also swiftsong when out of combat and another song isn't direly needed. Always. Always.

Thank you for making this topic. XD It's one pet peeve of mine whenever I'm in a party. A lot of primal ex parties I'm in manage to have people die several times mid battle and I'm forced to ress them. If I have to ress more than one person during a battle, it should be an auto ballad. Even as an sch my MP pool is not limitless so do me a favor and help me ensure the party stays alive.

Also, I'd also like to say a very big THANK YOU to every bard that does sing at the right times. You can have all my commendations.

I know you should hate the player, not the game, but I think part of the reason some bards are so uppity or reluctant to use their songs is because of how bard is the only ranged melee dps. I don't mind singing songs if asked to, and I'm getting better at noticing when I should, but the moment SE announces Ranger, I'm never touching bard again. I don't do bards, and I typically don't do support dps (exception being Dancer in 11, I @#$%ing loved that class to death). SE might have made an oversight as to just how vast of, at least in the NA community, a market there is for a glass cannon min/max ranged dps class. I know lots of people from this game and previous ones who solely play the "archer" class in games because they want that spike ranged dps damage.

That being said, all of the people who did fit into that "I don't care what my job is, I'll play my dps-onry ranged class", do need to just suck it up and play their job correctly :P Bards, as they also did in 11, have the capacity to increase the overall performance of the party by what amounts to a lot more than just a 20% damage cut to themselves. If they were truly smart about their elitism, they would realize this.

lol oh god yes. Now when they do that they need a 4 hour lecture on how to heal.

Hopefully when archer's second job is added (and assuming it's ranger or something else dps-oriented), bard's damage will be nerfed to a greater extent, with more emphasis being placed on the value/variety/potency of songs.
