A VERY EVIL EXPOIT BEING USED IN COIL

I just heard about it yesterday in the chat of one of my linkshells.

A team of people are taking people into Coil and then half way thru, stopping play and refusing to continue unless they are paid 100K Gil.

I was very shocked to hear this and also to see some players were not bothered by this at all or much. I have no names if i get any you can be sure i will report it to Square Enix. If you are one of the people doing this, I hope you get caught and banned for life..

It is a terrible sign of our degradation of morality in our modern world. IF this happens to you I urge you to report the names to Support IMMEIDATELY>

What a bunch of idiots. They'll get banned while wasting their own time as much as the other player's time. I wouldn't even think about paying them i'd just leave immediately and tell them to go fuck themselves.

It's a greedy, lazy, and downright horrible behavior, definitely - but I seriously doubt SE is going to do anything about this exploitation except to remind players that they can leave the instance and try again with other players.

I really wish FFXIV had an in-game GM presence like FFXI did.

Not so much an exploit as it is Harassment, which if reported and found to be true if investigated is still a bannable offense.

Pretty silly either way considering you can't trade in a Duty and if you leave you just have to start over anyway.

Do I get to keep all the loot if I pay them 100k? Cause thats seems awfully cheap to me for a Coil 1-5 carry. Considering that people get 1 million for all 3 Exm's with loot rights.

I'm failing to see what the "exploit" is. 100k to do all of coil? That's hella cheap compared to what people actually charge for carries. If you don't like how a group operates, then don't join that group. Simple as that. No reason to go around shouting ban hammers.

Are you not reading what he wrote? These people aren't advertising in the party finder 'OH HEY GUYS WE'RE GUNNA TAKE YOU HALF WAY THROUGH THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY US 100K'

They are saying it after they've already gone through and won't continue until they pay. They don't say anything until they get to that point.

I'm also failing to understand the logic of all the other posters. You're telling me it's okay to do this? Just because other people charge more? These people that are joining their party aren't going in expecting to have to pay somebody, maybe they don't even have the money and that's why they aren't paying anyone to carry them. I'm getting more and more disappointed with this game's community every day.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I hope you never run into them again but if you do you might want to jot down all their names. Don't post them here I think there are rules against that on these forums. Not so sure that Zam or FFXIVReal Forums would care tho. You may get criticized but you did the right thing to mention this. I for one appreciate the heads up.

If regular players want to form a guild party offering to be paid to run dungeons they should advertise it in party finder and make all arrangements pre dungeon. There are civilized ways to do commerce after all. Just because we're in a virtual world doesn't mean we have to act like thugs.

Sorry but I fail to see HOW exactly would this be executed in a first place as you're unable to trade in instances so there is NO way this is true. What exactly would you do? Pay them after? Leave and then start again? I don't think so.
