Tried and Tested Changing your name?

Has anybody successfully changed their name? Right now I have a char on Cerberus, I want to change her name. So I have made a second char on Lich with the same name. Am I able to transfer the Lich server character to Cerberus and then change the name of my first original character? Or do I have to take my first character transfer her to Lich, change her name and then transfer her back to Cerberus?
Any help would be great please and thank you

I haven't done it myself but I have seen people coming back with a different name or people transferring to another server and their name can't be found anymore so yes, it works. You have to transfer your Cerb character to Lich. This checks Lich server already has a character with the same name so the game will prompt you to change. Then you can transfer main character back to Cerberus.

The first name used on a server takes priority, so what you would need to so is create a character on another server (I see you did that on Lich) then transfer the Cerberus character over to that server, making the cerb character the second with the same name, change the name and transfer back. It's the only way right now.

I agree its expensive, but its better than spending ages leveling another character. If SE would just name a name change scroll or something it would be fine, I am clearly not the only person in this predicament.

I've done this as well, but it was during my one-way transfer from Siren to Coeurl (it was also on the free transfer weekend). Keep in mind that there is a 3-day waiting period between transfers as well.

Why not just wait for Namingway cards?

They are adding them down the road and it'll be a lot easier then paying for it in game and out. (losing gil by transferring)

Was there ever a an official statement saying they may do this or anything like that? I really want to change to a male character but I don't want to have a male character with a female name.

Or how about people actually take time thinking about their names instead of using stupid crap like Rofl McRoflcopter...
