Relic Weapons and Glamour system

So with the upcoming Glamour system so close I, like many others, have been getting my vanity gearsets ready. I was on my dragoon thinking to myself "Which weapon am I going to use?" and then I remembered how much more I like the unfinished Gae Bolg coloring than the finished.

So...

If you drop the relic weapon, can you redo the quest?

Ok, I have officially tested whether you can pick up the quest again after dropping a relic and you cannot. I guess all that is left is to petition SE to add Unfinished Relics to the Calamity NPCs.

Not sure, but I'd like to be able to redo the quest so I can get a non-Zenith relic to Glamour onto my existing Zenith one (and thus eliminating the glow effect). Either that or SE could just give me the ability to turn the glow off

I'm wondering if I can advance smoothly enough through the game without "upgrading" the weapons.

not sure. i'm fine with the glow, i'll probably be using the holy lance or obelisk for vanity.

I have this same concern for later upgrades of the Zodiac weapon. :/ We're going to be forced into losing certain weapon appearances for good if we want to progress it.

Looks like you can buy base relics from the Calamity Salvager now, so you can glamour the glow-less weapon. You can't buy the Zenith directly, but I'd imagine you can buy the base and re-upgrade it with mists (since that's not a quest) if you want to glamour the Zenith (if it even gets destroyed for the Zodiacs).

That's not a one-time item, is it? Get 5 more Behemoth Horns and you can buy another one. The Calamity Salvager is for stuff you can't otherwise get again.

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind having my SMN's and SCH's being changed, but I'd hate losing my thyrus ... I love it.
