    Suggestion: Open World Bosses

    • Some Bosses spawns in open word;
    • each boss have difficult mechanics to clear it, as happens in dungeons;
    • the boss is targettable only if there is enough people in the area surrounding him (to avoid solo players have him engage and despawn)
    • when a boss is engaged, a "ring of judgement" spawns around the area and nobody from ouside can enter or use skills, can just watch the fight;
    • if the inner group wipes, the boss says its disappointment for the unworty battle and despawn (to avoid people amass outside in the while to farm him then);
    • the reward for killing bosses is good enough to incentive people scouting the open world for them
    • (optional) watching the fight too much near the ring may be dangerous xDDD

    Nice idea in fact, BUT:
    if said boss spawns next to me who is just innocently standing there logging and I get enmity from just standing in his line of sight, nobody from the outside can get in to help this poor botanist?
    Should I throw logs and lumbers at him or defeat him while kissing him under a thavnairan mistletoe? Or am I doomed to death?

    As much as I don't like the idea of open world boss because of people would just abuse the system, your reason for boss aggro on a mining/logging job really is the least concern here, for many reasons

    Because Odin and Behemoth are not world bosses....
    They are sharing plain nothing with this idea. Please read the full OP, not only the title.

    Enmity starts when there is a number of people around, not just one unlucky logger Then, it is devs jobs, place them in correct places, so this problem can be avoided.

    Most of the "open world" areas are currently too small to have circles where you can't enter
    There are instead a lot of places containing big enough areas to fit a dungeon boss encounter. Wants something bigger? Sagolii desert.

    Anyway this is not a open world oriented MMO. There are currently some "open world bosses"... In fates. That's all we'll have.

    And I don't like the idea of those circles to be honest

    I woud be up for open world bosses where anyone can join the fight. But those bosses only makes sense on an MMO with a big map with no teleports everywhere, in a game in wich explorations means something. Or it will just end like Guildwars 2 dragons and big bosses, with a lot of lag an spectacular boring fights.

    (Yeah, or Odin and Behemot, wich are even worse, not espectacular boring fights with crappy lag where most players can't even see anything )

    Once again the OP is giving outside the box thinking ideas and this is the same boring excuses people come up with. This is why the game will never go anywhere. Limitations are with the players as much as it is the game itself.

    I prefer a FATE based boss over that, just give the battle some complicated mechanics, items, red circles, knockbacks, debuffs.

    It just takes a good battle design and an interesting reward to make a good fate boss, no need to instance open world, i would like to have NMs and all, but if you want to make suggestions try using the game's systems, otherwise SE will just ignore or delete like they have been doing.

    Just bring back open world NMs. Both big scary bosses than will eat players who randomly wander on their way and low level bosses that can be soloed and drop some nice low level gear. Even 1.0 had NMs and there was no vicious competition for them. The game world is in desperate need for some life and danger and adventure in it.

    I think that it would be a better idea to limit the claim for the party that attacked the monster first. Making it include everyone within the circle will just make it messy and not different from a FATE battle.

    Open world bosses only work with pvp zones.... without pvp zones... open world bosses will be boring like hell.... meaning everyone can have acces to it... and meaning 200-400 peeps will swarm it... which makes it boring and fps drop.

    But what they could add are world events. Meaning at a certain time, multie boss invasions will appear in several maps at the same time. It will prevents 200-400 people swarms.... and it will be a more challenging and fun fight.
