The Rothlyt Sound: Were the Ironhearts drunk?

Nedrick Ironheart's dear grandpapa created the first comprehensive map of Eorzea, yet the location of the Rothlyt Sound is incomprehensible to me as a human of Earth, or to the citizens of Limsa Lominsa. Here is why:

Leve text: No Pain, No Grain. Location: Lower La Noscea, Red Rooster Stead, Level 5.

Before grain can be milled into flour, it must be dried. During the Sixth Astral Era, we would dry our wheat in the dry salt winds that came down the Rothlyt Sound. The past five years, however, those winds have been warm and wet. Not only does it prevent the grain from drying properly, but it breeds mold. For this reason, we have opted to abandon the traditional methods of drying for a new technique using the cores from wind sprites. Drying is much quicker and more efficient, the only drawback being that none of us here at the Grey Fleet are competent enough with a blade to procure the cores ourselves. So, we must ask the aid of adventurers.
On the map linked to above, you can see that the Rothlyt Sound is south of Ala Mhigo and east of Gridania - not north of Limsa Lominsa.

What is equally curious, is the naming of animals and items around Vylbrand - the Rothlyt pelican, and Rothlyt oysters specifically.

What is going on with the Rothlyt Sound?

Does this leve text mean the Straight of Merlthor?

Uhn? I'm not getting the meaning, the wording 'came down the Rothlyt Sound' seems to imply simply that it came from that direction, not thatit came from any particular direction.
The winds being dry would also make sense in that situation as the humidity would probably all get trapped in the high mountains of coerthas as it went westwards, falling in that area.

True, but I would argue that winds which come down the Straight of Merlthor would have more of an impact on the drying of harvested crops specifically left out, or winds that came from the Indigo Deep, rather than winds from the Sea of Jade on the opposite side of the continent.

And, if they were to talk about salty winds coming from the East, why not reference the Yafaem Saltmoor which is just across the Straight? I think it all just seems odd!

There are a LOT of levequests which seem to contradict lore elsewhere...

There have been a half dozen or so, particularly fishing-related lore, which I have posted in the localisation forums and have been amended. And, even when things I have posted haven't been mistakes, sometimes the localisation team are so kind as to give further explanations. I would really recommend posting any mistakes you find there if you haven't been - I feel like it's a great way to give back to the team, so they know we appreciate and care about what they do, which further enriches the lore of future content!

This quote seems to be in relation to the leve text - I wonder if they will change the name of the pelicans or oysters too, however? Anyways, it seems that Eorzea's geography will be put right again soon!
