Glamour question for the devs

Totally agree. I wish someone at SE would explain why they are so keen on abritrary vanity restrictions, because I don't believe its actually possible to give a good reason for it.

Edit: I'd also like them to extend this to the dye system, and allow us to dye everything. There is no good reason we should be able to dye AF/DL/Myth etc. Personal preference is not a good reason.

"Mah immersion" is the one of the main reasons for the current restrictions which is going to be thrown out the window when you look at a lot of the pieces that can be used for vanity. I mainly dislike the level restriction and I doubt SE will ever budge on that.

What we have failed to understand is that this isn't a vanity system for the players: it's a vanity system for the devs. It wasn't designed so that the players could dress how they want: it's so the devs can have the players dress how they want. And what they want is their silly players to not have any kind of agency or creative output for their characters and, through them, their world. We have to dress according to their guidelines. Because clearly people's dresses ruins the Author's Creative Vision (tm) or something.

Unless you want to dress like a reindeer. I guess that's okay.

Remember how character creation is limited in its depth? Can't make characters that don't look like they fit within the lore and game world?

Same point here. The Glamour system has to make sense.

Though yes, I do understand the problem with the current gear system, especially the 'All Classes' gear and the ability for tanks to wear nearly all gear while casters are heavily restricted.
Still, that's something they need to fix, and is no excuse to remove restrictions from the Glamour system.

I agree with OP. If tanks can wear most of DoM clothes (Yes, there is DoM-specific armor, I know, but just look at all the mage class crafted gear, any class can equip that), then mages should at the very least be able to prism things such as shirts and tabards for glamour. It's all very light gear, and hell, if an archer can run around in a robe and not stumble, I don't see why a mage shouldn't be able to be moderately clad in armor as it fights.

Glamour is a purely aesthetic feature, it shouldn't be something that implied class restrictions.

I really hoped that it would be more restrictive so there can't be any reindeer bikini snowman warriors but alas. I also don't see the problems with the devs of their own dam game keeping to a certain aesthetic for their classes. I also believe there are others that share this same viewpoint but they are the quiet ones on the forums.

I want to be able to use/wear the i90 crafted gear but it showing the i100 tome gear for my job.
