    PS3/PS4, lag, and you!

Does anyone tech-y or really diligent know if having the PS4 version of the game is going to help with lag issues? I don't have them all the time (have beaten Titan X handily as MNK and PLD), but I do get them sometimes (2 days ago I was 6 steps out of a landslide and got knocked off in the complete opposite direction of said landslide).

I play on PS3, and usually when I start getting lag I can mess with my router/modem to get it fixed, but I'd like to think that when I make the upgrade to PS4, something about it (network adapter, processing power, etc) is going to at least improve my ability to be confident that my Playstation isn't going to have a "bad day" and totally make me look like an idiot.

Or is this solely an internet issue on my part?

    Thanks in advance for guidance!

I'm going to show you an option. It is very effective but does require an investment. The problem is ISP throttle gaming connection which results in high ping most of the times. You can be living in Canada and still have high ping issues. So the best logical option is to have your PS3/PS4 run on a very fast VPN network that eliminate ISP game traffic throttle and grant you less jumps to FFXIV servers. If you were on PC it would be something like $5-$9 per month investment (you can try it free for a month). However, because PS3/PS4 does not support VPN, you need your router to do it for you.

This require what is know as DD-WRT supported Router:

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index

List of supported Routers, yours might be in there:

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

Then you would need a access to a fast VPN network. I can't recommend any here since it is not the right place for it. However, there is a subreddit called "VPN" you can ask for more info there.

Note: This is just an option that you can live without . If I was in your shoe I would probable go ahead with it since gaming is one of my very few hobbies.
