A thought about Races.

I believe they said they made the races as they are to make FFXI players feel at home in Eorzea.

I remember an article a while ago with a similar statement as you have. But I always thought that, plus another couple races would have been a better draw for new players who never touched 11.

To me, The Race were good, but In my Opinion, they could've made new, cool, and epic races with cooler background stories. Even if they wanted to make XI Players feel like home, they could always add a few more Races that appeal to other and newer Players and I feel so letdown with the [Character Creation] choices lol. They said it's gonna be great and something, It would have a great Variation, but in reality It was not. I played Aion and I think the Character Creation is good, although some part of it seems to be Over-customizable and I don't expect that to be in XIV, but I'll feel grateful If SE make things better. After all, character creation is the beginning of the game itself.
