trying to use a dualshock 3 on my PC

I have owned the ps3 version of the game since launch, and i finally got a PC strong enough to run the game smoothly, but I'm not that good with the keyboard and mouse, because I'm not a PC player really. Is there a program I can use to make it so i can use my ps3 controller on the PC version. I know i have to change my settings, but i tried plugging it in and it doesn't seem to take. i have tried both a 3rd party and official controller.

any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have no idea if this program is still needed or updated, but I had to download it a few years ago to get my ps3 controller to work on my Pc for emulators. It's called DS3 tool and you can find it by googling. Again, I've never tried this tool w/ ff14, but it worked on every other emulator and game I tried it on back then.

Yes the DS3 tool works with FF14. With the right stuff you can even connect it via bluetooth. In the program classify it as a PS2 controller because the motion sensor in the controller will end up controlling the camera and you don't want that.

Google: Scarlet Crush PS3 driver. - Much better than MotioninJoy / BetterDS3.
If you want to go wireless, get a bluetooth adapter that suppers ESR2.0 (I believe 2.0 is right). Or google motioninjoy bluetooth adapters.
Otherwise just use a USB cable.

Google "pcsx2 ds3 driver". You need a dedicated BT4 usb adapter. I used this for a long time, but now I'm using a USB cable.

The short answer, yes. It takes third party drivers and software, but is still possible. I personally play on PC with a PlayStation controller, using a modified setup for additional keybinds and functionality over the standard controller setup.

$6 shipped from dx dot com.
    SKU: 37665

I have it an it works.

Most important is that the bluetooth adapter supports EDR.
    That's what the PS3 uses.

I used to use DS3 Tool but got sick of having to keep enabling the controller every time I started my PC up, so I found a MUCH better and easier alternative: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=102

After following this guide all you'll have to do is simply connect your PS3 controller via USB and that's it, you're good to go and play whatever games you want without any settings to configure or anything else

This is what's use, although I haven't worked out how to get the wireless working with it yet :/

Guys... trust me, Scarlet Crush PS3 driver is the one to use. And the Bluetooth adapter I posted above makes it wireless.
You just install the driver and that's it. No enabling each time, etc.
